There is a framework mod called XML Extensions that would allow you to add mod options to your XML-only mod. With the downside that your mod becomes dependent on XML Extensions.

@ZeroTheAbsolute Thanks! Config options would be a nice addition, however, I prefer to keep my mods XML only to ensure they can be updated to new game versions quickly (and cleanly :) ), which unfortunately means that unless Rimworld starts providing a built-in unified way to handle mod configuration settings, I won't be able to add them

@DocHolliday I remember looking into adding this quite a few years ago actually. Back then, it wasn't really possible to do without adding a custom assembly to the mod. It seems though, that at some point, support for this functionality was added to the base game.

The latest version of the mod now has both the tiled and 1x4 advanced basins configured with their own builtin sun lamp.

Any chance you could make these count as self lit? You could just make the blue exterior color glow a tiny bit and it would make sense if need be. Nice mod regardless!

@Thundercraft While I agree that having multiple mods with the exact same display name can be confusing, I do personally believe that the current name is very fitting though.

Given that Ogre's mod was published several years after mine, I'm of the opinion that (in this case) it's his responsibility to ensure that a given mod name wasn't already taken in the past before using it themselves.

About the potential logs issue, every mod also has an unique Identifier, separate from the Display Name. This Identifier is visible in the 'Mods' menu in the 'ID' field. When users provide logs, this identifier is also generally contained inside these logs, so error logging shouldn't really be affected by this naming issue.

It seems confusing that this mod uses the same name as Advanced Hydroponics , especially since these two mods do very, very different things. And because they do different things, I could easily see some players using both mods. Imagine trying to use both mods, but looking at your mod list in confusion because you see what appears to be the same mod listed twice... :lunar2020sweatrat: It would be even more confusing for players using both mods to try to figure out an error log if "Advanced Hydroponics" was mentioned.

Just saying: It would be nice if, either, this mod was named "Stolij's Advanced Hydroponics" or the other mod was renamed to "Ogre's Advanced Hydroponics".

@saintz Since I can't reproduce the problem you're experiencing, I can't exactly pinpoint what's causing it. You could try to verify the integrity of your Rimworld install (Right click Rimworld (in steam) -> Properties -> Local Files -> Verify integrity of game files).

I personally don't own any of the DLC's, so you could try to disable them to see if it does work when they aren't loaded.

Also, the mod BetterLoading (1.4 version) seems to have some comments which complain about Mod incompatibilities.

in real life, 1000W is actually what is needed for hydroponcs to work so this is pretty accurate

@[IX] Linarielle The high power use of the Advanced hydroponics basin was originally designed around the idea that the 'efficiency' stat of hydroponics basins increased the growth speed of crops instead of crop yield. I don't know if this behavior was changed in some update after 1.2 though.

Here is the solution, ppl:
0) Assuming default directory to mod - Steam\steamapps\workshop\content\294100\749150111\
1) copy "Source\HydroponicsBasinWithOwnSunLamp\obj\Release\HydroponicsBasinWithOwnSunLamp.dll" to "Assemblies\" dir
2) In "Defs\ThingDefs\Buildings_AdvancedHydroponics.xml" and "Defs\ThingDefs\Buildings_AdvancedHydroponicswithlamp.xml" REMOVE the <plantsDestroyWithMe>true</plantsDestroyWithMe> string entirely (found twice in each file). Core Hydroponics doesn't have one, so why we need?
3) Enjoy.

@Stolij - wow, you did publish your entire test solution with non-related stuff. Please cleanup mod content to only include the advertised Adv.Hydro.
