Mogwai, I edited your mod and uploaded it just to add 5X5 LCDs for my server, if its an issue, please let me know and I will be more than happy to take it down. I have linked back to here, and given you credit, as it is your original work. Thanks again, this is an amazing mod!

just add that into the text...here is an example for my stone squeezer mod which. First section is german, then ".page" 2nd english, so I just need a few lines. Receiver flips the pages.

These are vanilla LCD with a logic to transfer text messages, so i am limited to lcd functions

yes, it still works, we have it on our server to show rules and news..but it is designed in a way that it needs an admin to set the sender block (we dont want players to spam the galaxy with ads^^), but if the admin sets the sender in a player station it can be used of cause

I hope this still works im eager to try it out granted it wouldnt be for the reasons you want it to be used for XD I saw this as a system we use in the Navy as Telitype XD im hoping to have Senders and recievers in my ships allowing them to literally Type to eachother messages

du kannst den Mod anpassen, Referenz genügt, Co-Autor muss nicht sein, wenn Fragen dann einfach melden, am besten per Steam direkt (sonst wirds hier etwas unübersichtlich).

Du verstehst mich ansich richtig, ich kann das aber relativieren: Mir stellt es sich derzeit so dar, dass man das Einblenden im Bau-GUI (G-Menu) zwar für die Gesamtübersicht beeinlfussen kann (1. ob überhaupt, 2. Position des Icon, 3. Scrollrad-Baugruppe), selbst wenn ein Objekt ausgeblendet ist, dieses aber über die Suche wieder auffindbar wird.

1x1 ist nur config, also einfach, aber den Sender aus dem Baumenü ausblenden ist problematisch, dann können Admins den nicht mehr ingame setzen...oder verstehe ich da was falsch?

Hi Mogwai! Hätte Interesse, den Mod auf dem space-engineers.de DS einzusetzen, haben dafür aber zumindest eine Zusatzanforderung, die der Mod bisher nicht erfüllt: Varianten zumindest der Empfänger für 1x1 LCDs und Textpanele und bestenfalls die Icons im Baumenü ausgeblöendet ausgeblendet.
Hast du in nächster Zeit vor, hier Änderungen vorzunehmen oder darf man sich darum - beschränkt auf SE.de - annehmen?

This is one of my favorite mods, we use it HEAVILY on our server. We use Sender blocks combined with Auto-LCD's to publish real-time market price lists from the Frontier Economy Mod. Probably have a dozen or so markets spread across our solar system, and building more all the time! Thanks for the mod!

yes, good point...i am thinking of something similar, but a new set of sender+receiver for players..to keep them similar to the "admin" ones, I want to use existing "share with" options which are already there

This mod would be 1000-times cooler if non-admin players can create their own broadcast channels.

The mod already has the concept of channels; you just need a way to enforce channel ownership to prevent trolls.

Channel identifiers have the form: (<channel name>)

I propose the channel identifier be extended to support a new format:

(<owner>:<channel name>) where <owner> is the player name. The sender doesn't need to specify the <owner>; it defaults to the owner of the block.

(secret:<secret key>:<channel name>) where <secret key> is any alphanumeric string which constitutes a shared private key. This way people can setup private communication channels. These channels would not show up on a channel list.

Lets to a test then
1) remove any sender/receiver from your world
2) pick receiver (make sure it is the receiver and not the sender) and attach it to a station
3) makesure the station / receiver is powered and receiver is turned on
-> it should show the default helptext...does it?
Next sender
1) place a sender, make sure ist is turned on and has power
2) goto "k", pick the name of the block and add (test) to it. Lease the name, keep the brackets
3) after a few seconds the receiver cxhannels list should show up the new channel "test"
-> does it?

yes, i can add a small ship "wide lcd" panel. but re-using parts of other mods (sloped panel) is not possible
1x1x1 is the small panel, i looked at them but you cannot put useful text on them, not much room for messages.

It would be awesome to make landing screens that'll recieve information about ship's position on the lanchpad from the station.
1x1x1 panels would be awesome. Actually, whole HappySushi sloped panel pack would be great, but I guess it's too much to ask)

yes, but scripting is limited to the ship/station it runs on. You need a mod to leave this limitation. ....but that requires at least basic programming skills in C#..You can download a few mods unzip them and look at their code. It is almost the same framework. With regards to POI that really might be an issue for GPS, but having a local TV channel might be an interesting feature.

Some of the Radar scripts aren't very user friendly if you aren't any good with scripting to begin with..still I'd like to know which one does that!

Mission...perhaps. Just coming up with ways to have a few dozen things to find but the players don't just load up the world with a few dozen antennas nearby. I guess when I think of it you'd only be able to see them from 50km but still...they're so visual that there isn't much going on there for a player to do beside fly to it.

At least with text sent to your exploration ship you could get an idea of what you're going toward. Maybe the nearby point of interest sends you text warning you that there are pirates in the area. That kind of thing.

Sounds interesting...there are mods painting on LCD...but is painting the best way? From what I understand you want to do a mission like script....there is a radar mod that creates/removes GPS, a player could then fly a path to a misssion target.

This is slightly unrelated but your mod just about does what I'm looking around for...which is a way to broadcast messages and things to LCD's in order to give a player a way of exploring that isn't just on the HUD.

For example, an Antenna Signal is visible but for my idea you'd see it on an LCD screen instead. The point of this is to somehow create a way for a 'Navigations' stationed player to have a job to do rather than a pilot simply flying directly to an Antenna, Gps or Beacon signal. The only issue I see with this is that the mod/script couldn't have infinite range....

If this sounds at all interesting to you I'd be happy to hear your thoughts on it. Even in the default state you've created this is a good idea!
