Unfortunately the markers are removed once you switch out of the ruler, so it isn't that useful to set a plan for large structures, just to constantly check if you are keeping the distances you wanted.

Very useful mod, saves a lot of time when building symmetrical structures or ships. I would love to see an option to keep the ruler visible even when you put away the tool so that you can place the blocks with visual guide still visible.

It would also be awesome if it was possible to place multiple rulers. (You could have another item added that when used will erase all placed lines)

I wanted to come back to Starbound and almost instantly tried to use this mod again, but it doesn't work anymore.

This really needs an update, I have lots of trouble building symmetrically without it.

Got the same freeze problem... Some mods seem to have trouble loading their items, freeze is happening when you select the item in your hotbar or inventory? Then try Ctrl+alt+suppr, or alt tab, anything to come back to desktop, then back to the game, it works for me. The bug appears only the first launch, after each time I launch my PC...

It's not photoshopped, the mod used to work before the 1.2 update of starbound. This mod just needs a fix... It's still useful, but more tricky without visuals...

The "actual gameplay footage" image in the thumbnail is photoshop, as the holoruler does not actually make a red line and the only dimensions that pop above your head are "1x8". I could make a better mod than this.

like Rxg said, the red visual line of the ruler is invisible now. Also the "overhead static" and " line center" numbers appear to be invisible as well.

It seems the 1.2 update broke the visual on the ruler. It still gives you measurements with the default overhead numbers but you can't see anything else.

I really love this mod!

But bit seems kinda wierd to have the configuration be an entirely different item. Couldn't the ruler just be two handed?
Left Mouse: Point A
Right Mouse: Point B
Shift Click: Configuration

Ok, I must say, the first time I see this mod, I was "meh, I don't need that"; but after a second thought, and lots of measures made with paint (and mistakes!), that mod is just great. Ok, it doesn't change the face of the world, like FU, but for picky builders like me ("that light must be at the center of the room!"), that's a must-have tool. Nicely implemented. Another mod for my list, thanks for the good work! ^^

In case you've subscribed to this section, this is me letting you know that there's a BIIIIIIIIG update out. Now you can change the colours your HoloRulers use, on a per-item basis. So you can have a red one, a green one and even an invisible one! In case you need it. For whatever reason.
