sorry for the late reply, I dont really have the files for this anymore but i do recall there shouldnt be anything that makes the players location show for everyone. maybe this the game add something like that?

To be clear, I ran a server with only this mod enabled for testing purposes(not even any client mods) so I know this is the mod that's doing it.

Not sure if this mod is maintained anymore, but for some reason it enables permanent player location indicators for the host and there's no setting to turn the off. Would it be possible to get a fix for that?

I changed the mod's settings to "spawn: portal; change character: yes; ghost sanity drain: no; portal resurrection: yes; ban resurrection items: no" but, when I start a new Wilderness save, the Portal simply isn't there. Is the mod no longer working? Or is it meant to be used in a mode other than Wilderness?

So Klei has implemented character change with the portal (and keep every progress), BUT not for wilderness... Can this go around that? Can I play wilderness (random spawn) with portal and ghosts activated as well?

I want to spawn randomly in the world but keep the features that the portal and ghosts have (telltale heart, life amulet, Touch Stone, meat effigy, change character via celestial portal).

PS: Basically I want to play pure Survival but with random spawn the first time you enter the world (that,s it), not portal spawn. Its fun trying to find eachother the first time you begin in multiplayer.

You need to turn it on in the mod. Ill take a look at the mod and see if I can get an update added to it and maybe even add a few new features.

He's not using any character mods. But even if I think it's not got anything to do with the character you play, but rather wether there's any other mods that change/disable the death/rez announcement

im pretty busy right now but Ill see if I can find the code. Should be able to juts delete the line on death. Is your friend using a character mods?

Are you saying you dont want it to show when a player dies? Its been awhile since I had my server online but I didnt think it said when a player died

Hey one question, would it be possible to add a config that changes the death announcement when a player dies?
I'm asking for a friend who needs a feature like this for a server hes creatiing and he wants to disable the death announcements

I have not tied it on dedicated servers as most dedicated servers you can change these without mods but give it a shot and let me know. :)

But as for adding them to the dedicated server yes those are the files you would need

I run a dedicated linux server, so i just need to add it to both files modoverride.lua and the default one, right? just in case :)

Version 2.6 has been uploaded and it works. :) Now I will be working on adding a few features that will make it easier.

you need to make it so character is yes. That removes the ghost.

yes it does, if you have a problem let me know. You need to put Custom under game type i believe. I can double check though if you need me too. Dedicated servers changed a bit.

Also im looking to setup a 24/7 dedicated server for my twitch channel for all my subs if anyone is interested. Let me know if you are interested. Ill be running more than DST.

go under the mod and turn it on, then goto the settings where you name your world and select custom settings
