It doesn't work, seems useless

So how do I actually dash with this one? I needed this because double tap killed me more than it saved me, but I still don't want it completely gone. Please tell me what key it has been rebind to.

Awesome Mod, exactly what i needed.
Bahamut Ali 8. aug. 2019 kl. 13:24
This is the only mod I wanted for this game but sadly it doesn't work.
Lovyxia 25. juli 2019 kl. 13:05
Thanks for the answer. I'll try asking at the FU discussions if something could be done. If not, I might be willing to go in and change the key presses myself locally (if I manage to, with some help)

The mod works by editing the dash and sprint lua files to change what key press they're looking for. Since you can't patch lua files like you can with json files the only way to make this work with any mod that also edits the dash lua files is to edit the files of the mod. As far as I'm aware there's not really any way to ensure a specific mod's files get loaded after the others so there's nothing I can really do about it.

Would it be possible to make a version of this that works with FU? I love this mod but FU seems to break it.

the control option is not showing up
zet  [ophavsmand] 2. juli 2019 kl. 10:31
Though hidden from the main controls menu by default. There are actually 3 total keybinds meant for techs. Only one is used in the vanilla game, the first one. (labeled head tech in the menu) You can still bind keys to the extra mappings in the config files. (unless they changed it recently)
El Hopaness Romtic 30. juni 2019 kl. 9:51
What is the "second tech keybind"
zet  [ophavsmand] 24. feb. 2019 kl. 12:28
I believe you can still bind tech 2 and 3 in the config files of the game. That's a temporary fix though. I might see if I can make my own version of that mod at some point.

Extra key binds cannot be found on the steam mods now. I am wondering if there is an alternate way to use this or any same-type mods now.
ZanyAvian 23. sep. 2018 kl. 1:55
On a related note, Extra Tech Key Binds IS required, at least on the stable branch.
ZanyAvian 23. sep. 2018 kl. 1:46
Just wanted to make you aware that, while the page description says Extra Tech Key Binds is no longer required, said mod is still listed as a requirement, and Steam will alert you to that when you subscribe.

ZEROOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOO i love megaman zero :D
zet  [ophavsmand] 12. juni 2017 kl. 18:16
Uploaded the mod to the Chucklefish website for those who need it (or just prefer it)
zet  [ophavsmand] 11. juni 2017 kl. 19:11
Updated, should work just fine now.
Jzpelaez 11. juni 2017 kl. 18:51
Have I mentioned how much I love you? Thank you, doing the real work.
zet  [ophavsmand] 11. juni 2017 kl. 18:44
I've already figured out the issue, I'll be pushing an update shortly. They changed the names of the tech keybinds in a recent update.
Jzpelaez 11. juni 2017 kl. 18:21
That or it could be an issue with Extra Tech Key Binds. Seeing as that mod is all about adding key binds that were technically already there. CF might have changed something with the bindings.
Jzpelaez 11. juni 2017 kl. 18:19
I've checked for myself, and it seems to stem from the same issue involving techs. I think I have an idea of what could be causing it. Not necessarily the mods themselves being broken but rather some sort of change in how key bindings work. I'm not a programmar, so I have no idea, I could be talking out of my ass.
zet  [ophavsmand] 9. juni 2017 kl. 13:06
Make sure you've set the second tech keybind. If you already have, then it's probably another mod interfering. Anything that changes the way the dash works will not be compatible. If that's not the issue the devs have probably changed the way the dash works in a recent update. If I ever get back into Starbound modding I'll be sure to look into that.
BigBadRat 9. juni 2017 kl. 8:23
doesn't work for me. I installed extra tech key binds and this. Seems like I can't dash at all now. I only got the basic tech unlocked for now if that matter.

Tutorial on how to unpack the base game assets [community.playstarbound.com] Once the assets are unpacked you can go to "UnpackedAssets>tech>dash" then edit the blinkdash.tech in notepad or whatever. It's really straightforward once you're in there. It's almost stupid how easy it is.
JasonWolf 8. aug. 2016 kl. 21:08
Let's say I have zero idea how to make that edit. How might one find and do the procedure?
zet  [ophavsmand] 8. aug. 2016 kl. 19:09
Woops, I thought it would've worked already. Oh well, just pushed an update to fix this, should work just fine now.
Wolvman 8. aug. 2016 kl. 18:26
This seems to be confusing my game when sprint is selected instead of a dash. It randomly decides to either use my sphere ability or the sprint ability at random while my tech 2 button does nothing when sprint it selected. Anyway you could make sprint carry over to the tech 2 button like the dash moves as well? That would make the mod perfect.
zet  [ophavsmand] 8. aug. 2016 kl. 15:10
The only reason that would happen is that whatever mod you use that makes it so you can blink in the air edited the blinkdash.lua file. (which isn't necessarily needed for that ability) If you want to blink in the air you can just edit the blinkdash.tech file.
JasonWolf 8. aug. 2016 kl. 12:11
Well I would love this but I can't blink in the air now so sorry, but I need that more.
zet  [ophavsmand] 6. aug. 2016 kl. 19:18
Did you make sure that Extra Tech Key Binds is installed? If so did you make sure to bind the 2nd tech keybind and not the third?
Weaver 6. aug. 2016 kl. 18:43
Dosen't seem to work for me or a friend, tried with regular dash and sprint. Also disables doiubletapping.
zet  [ophavsmand] 6. aug. 2016 kl. 17:48
On the side there is a "required items" box, it's in there.
p6kocka 6. aug. 2016 kl. 16:59
Where can I find this mod? "Extra tech keybinds"
