Starblast16 most grappling hook mods use the same code, so just DIY, i did. Just look up a tutorial or something

Can you make a separate grapple hook?
Starblast16 14. dec. 2016 kl. 13:06
Is there any way you can add compatibility with grappling hooks from mods?
Drake 8. aug. 2016 kl. 22:51
Could you do a version of this but with the rope graphics?
meow 7. aug. 2016 kl. 20:39
so many versions...

Is it possible you could make this a seperate item? The mod is great but sometimes the normal grappling hook would be better to use in certain situations.
Iggysaurus1  [ophavsmand] 7. aug. 2016 kl. 2:31
thats fine, its probably best i make it anyways so that its there for any who want it.
Dragonknight951 7. aug. 2016 kl. 2:22
oh i dident need it but i know people would want it and i asked since i dident see it on the list of other versions
Dragonknight951 6. aug. 2016 kl. 20:29
how about a version with no changes to reach but still reels in and out faster then vanilla for those who dont want the reach/lag but want a faster reel time
Iggysaurus1  [ophavsmand] 6. aug. 2016 kl. 14:25
http://psteamcommunity.yuanyoumao.com/sharedfiles/filedetails/?id=738929614 this version does not increase reach or reel speed.

Does this extend the range of the grappling hook? It seems like it does, and the further it goes the laggier it gets. Is there a way to decrease the range of the hook..?
Iggysaurus1  [ophavsmand] 5. aug. 2016 kl. 12:36
it replaces the normal grappling hook.

I thought about saying 'I don't understand why anyone would still be playing unstable' but unfortunately I kinda do. That being said, please take my continued silence for 'I am playing on the most recent version, I will do more to try and fix what you cannot, and good life to you.'
Iggysaurus1  [ophavsmand] 3. aug. 2016 kl. 20:14
if all else fails, try downloading it from the forum and manually installing it. the mod is compatible with both stable and unstable as of right now, as well as 64 bit and 32 bit. however, if you're using unstable downloading it from the steam workshop will not work correctly.

Iggysaurus1  [ophavsmand] 3. aug. 2016 kl. 19:56
you're playing on the stable version, right?
Pinhead Clipshit 3. aug. 2016 kl. 19:53
Ive already done all the basic trouble shooting :I
Iggysaurus1  [ophavsmand] 3. aug. 2016 kl. 19:52
the mod works fine for me in 32 bit. it SHOULD be working just fine for you and everyone else, so i'm not really sure what the problem is...

try unsubscribing to the mod, launching your game, closing it, and resubscribing to the mod. if that doesn't work, try going onto starbound's main menu, clicking the gear button at the bottom right, and see if you can find better grappling. once you've validated that it has been downloaded and installed, try finding it in the steam files (for me, its located at C:\program files(x86)\steam\steamapps\workshop\content\211820\735970532\).

if you find a content.pak at that location (or wherever the mod is for you), try copying it and pasting it to the mods folder, located inside of starbound's main folder (C:\Program Files (x86)\Steam\steamapps\common\Starbound\mods\ by default) and see if that does anything.

past that, i'm not sure...
Iggysaurus1  [ophavsmand] 3. aug. 2016 kl. 19:37
i made this mod in 64 bit, so that could be it. i'll do some testing and see whats wrong.
Pinhead Clipshit 3. aug. 2016 kl. 19:05
Nothing else that modifies the grappling hook, but I do play 32 bit.
Iggysaurus1  [ophavsmand] 3. aug. 2016 kl. 13:57
what version are you running, and are you running any other mods that change the grappling hook?
Pinhead Clipshit 3. aug. 2016 kl. 9:23
I subscribed, it simply is not working.
Iggysaurus1  [ophavsmand] 1. aug. 2016 kl. 20:33
reel speed changes both reel in and reel out speed. here is a version of the mod that does NOT change reel speed.

Fuyuno 1. aug. 2016 kl. 20:15
not that, i do like it faster and that it's longer - i mean when you press the down key to release the rope after it's been attached.. to, like, go down places after it's hooked lol
Iggysaurus1  [ophavsmand] 1. aug. 2016 kl. 19:46
the grappling hook shoots faster than the climbing rope, however to compensate it has longer length. test it out and see how you like it; i didn't have anyone except for me to playtest it. if it's too fast i'll make it a bit slower.
Fuyuno 1. aug. 2016 kl. 19:23
does this affect the release speed? (the opposite of the reel speed i guess lol - reel is in, release is.. out?) -- please say no xD i like the release speed being slow
StarWolf47 1. aug. 2016 kl. 17:30
Ty, I didn't know that was a bug.
Iggysaurus1  [ophavsmand] 1. aug. 2016 kl. 17:28
correct, being unable to do that was a bug and you can fire both hooks at the same time without retracting the other.
StarWolf47 1. aug. 2016 kl. 17:13
fire both at the same time? As in fire one after the other without pulling in the other.
Iggysaurus1  [ophavsmand] 1. aug. 2016 kl. 17:12
you can use two grappling hooks at the same time, since they are one handed. there was a bug in 1.0 that made it so you couldn't, but that was fixed in either 1.0.2 or 1.0.3.
StarWolf47 1. aug. 2016 kl. 17:05
Can you use 2 grapples at a time? If not, please make a mod that does so, although it may be hard. Maybe.
