Thanks that this nonsene has been removed. The change of corruption only high at the first tree line and dramatically decrease over generation.

don't make them disease prone/weaker or you'll be making the starting problem all over again(running out of breeding stock to the point of having to buy more and having to micro manage every pairing)

@Samael; I wasn't planning to, but if i recall correctly it should be really easy to do. There's a flag "incestForAnimals" in each PawnRelationDef, there should be a similar one for pawns (these are xml files, so just text.), simply setting these to false (or removing them) would be enough.

If you want to get fancier you'd use C# or an XML patch (xPath) to turn it off on all defs, as I did with animals; https://github.com/FluffierThanThou/Inbreeding/blob/master/Source/Fluffy_AnimalIncest/Injector.cs . Note that that code uses the old CCL or an old version of HugsLib, so it won't work verbatim for new versions of RW, but feel free to use it as a starting point if you're inclined to make a mod on your own.

@Gregch; Animal incest is allowed in recent versions of RW, so this mod does nothing. It's just here for anyone playing very old versions of the game, I guess.

Does anyone know of a mod to disallow animal incest? I don't want it but my searches have come up disturbingly empty. Forgive me if this is the wrong place to ask, but I thought, just in case, since Fluffy is known to be the reigning Rimworld modder.

@Super Spoopy Danger Noodle; Again, this mod would do nothing in A16, A17, and presumably A18 versions of RimWorld, as the changes this mod makes are already in those versions of the game. You do NOT need this mod.

@Super Spoopy Danger Noodle; it has no longer been needed since A16. Animal incest was restricted in A15, but it appears that change was reverted in A16 onwards.

You can safely disable this mod. (And you should really do so!)

Thanks for replying! Yes I did figure out inbreeding still happens! And am happy for it! Meat and leather, all these nice clothes and food for a little grass and genetic defects? Worth it!

It hasn't been needed since A16. Animal inbreeding restrictions were a nice idea in theory, but worked very badly from a gameplay perspective.

yeah i noticed after i wrote that this mod wasn't updated anymore. But i still don't remember having animals not doing incest in A14 :D maybe i wasn't doing many farms at that point i guess so i didn't notice it not happening. it's of no importance now. keep up the good work. nice mods :)

During A14 (and I think A15 as well), animals couldn't interbreed with relatives, which made animal husbandry a bit of a problem.

In A16, animals can freely inbreed again.

You will notice that this mod was for A14, and there's a big bold line in the description clearly stating this mod is no longer needed.

@Xane Tempest Why in the all hell would you farm rats? there are so many more suitable creatures ie, deer, muffalo, hares, boars, turtles, squirrels, monkeys, or camels

Looks like this isn't needed anymore in A16 - as far as I can see all references to incest for animals have been removed from the game.

Few notes about RimWorld humans and incest;

Humans use a much more complicated attraction mechanic (in comparison to animals who just **** whatever is closest and willing) and will tend to stay away from incest. If I recall correctly, this is a % penalty on the ''attractiveness score" of the partner, based on their relation. So siblings would get a high % penalty, distant cousins, much less so.

That's the first reason why incest for humans is much less of an issue - it's modeled better. The second reason is that it simply doesn't really matter: there are no babies anyway!

@Coffeecool; yes. yes, it is. I might fix that at some point, but first I'd need to see if this mod is even still necessary for A15/A16, I seem to recall someone saying it wasn't necessary anymore.
