I hate super critical timing maps. Voted negative. Keep missing by about quarter of a second.

I could also fizzle and autodrop the cube, shoot a couple of portals (doesn't really gain much time)
but that's about it. Is there an intended solution?

Very easy, proof of concept rather. Though maybe unintended? It's been said that's it's tempting but not optimal to use the button to drop the cube on the stairs, are there really any other solutions? I did precisely as here https://youtu.be/iGDqDEZD-Z0?t=258

I really think Ninja moves on this one would be better, unless it was made on purpose for people to think it is necessary while there's a respawn button that helps a lot, that button shouldn't be there, i mean, if that time is enough for the other way.

Wow, that was grea! If you are failing by 0.1 seconds, you haven't found the best solution yet. Hint: It is tempting, but not optimal, to use the button to drop a cube on the stairs.

Nice little test. Had a little brain fart and forgot about fizzling the cube and getting another one. Tryed to ninja the orginal cube once and almost made. It was then i noticed the button again lol. Thumbs up!

OK, after the little workshop glitch with some 2012 maps, I played this. It is an alright sacrifice the cube map. The first map I played with this concept is Mevious's Cache .

Mevious experienced this before. The problem relates to some maps released in 2012. Reuploading fixed the issue.

If I hadn't read ProfDave's comment I would've hated this test, for I tried it a dozen times pushing the cube dispensing button , always being just a fraction of a second too late. Turns out I just didn't figure out the actual solution. That bought me just enough time to get up the stairs.

Not the biggest fan of timing puzzles, but still fun. Figuring out what to do (or not do) with the crate at the end bugged me for more time than I'd like to admit, but I slapped my forehead when I figured it out.

I don't know why some people is complaining about this chamber, the timing is simply enought to solve the test if the portals are in the correct position, there is nothing wrong with this chamber!
Personally I solved it placing the 2 Portals beside the buttons, then just pressed both buttons and rushed to the exit pressing the button that fizzles the cube and makes it fall just above your head No ninja stuff involved

Portal is a game about puzzle solving, not execution skill. This kind of room is getting on my nerve: it's at the complete oposite of what the game is about.

That was a nice little puzzle! I wouldn't have minded one extra second of breathing room, but maybe a full second would have allowed me to solve it without actually figuring out the final trick -- grabbing the cube and forcing it into the fizzler, rather than just pushing the button to dispense a new cube ?
