It's not the stingray's fault and it's species isn't to blame either. You can get stabbed by their venom-covered barbs by just stepping on them accidently.

You shouldn't blame the stingray or it's entire species for the death of Steve Erwin. A lot of people get stabbed or killed by the venom-coated barb on their tails by accident.
