I'm in agreement with ArchLord. This test has an "un-Portal-like" feel to it, especially given that there wasn't even a portal gun involved. Maybe if you showed us how this mechanism can be used for flinging, it would greatly improve the quality of your map.

Well... It's an interesting idea but I've got problems using it because when launching you might collide with the barrel. That extremely changes the path you fly.

No need for portals here. Not part of the design.

I suppose I could put an autosave right before you start the jump sequence. Putting it in each sucessive jump could make things worse if you trigger it during a failed jump. Also, timing is everything.

It's a neat idea, although the very first challenging blast (past the grinder) is a bit too difficult for when you're just starting to get the grasp of a new game mechanic. It always seems to align for exactly the wrong shot.
