Okay so. I did this, but every time I try to go on a mission afterwards. It would just crash my entire game. I don't know if changing the mod itself is what caused it or something else. But my game was fine up until then.

For people who don't know how to manually fix this problem using gus's fix

- go to: Program Files (x86)\steamapps\workshop\content\268500 (268500 is an ID for XCOM2)
- download the folder from the dropbox link
- just place the folder among other workshop mods into this 268500 folder

I'm not saying this is the best way to fix it, but it DID solve my issue.

Also, not sure if it matters or not, but I am using Musashi's RPG Overhaul.

tried for hundred times and i now have the point.
this mod NOT work with [New Promotion Screen by Default].
means if use want to use Spark Classes, u will had to given up some MOD Classes.

This had worked fine until I added LW2 classes and secondary weapons mods. Now I have the same problem with the promotion button taking me back to the soldiers list. What is the 'Gus' fix?

To any wondering:
-My issue: my SPARK had 'CHOOSE CLASS' on the Armory's soldier list screen, but selecting the SPARK directly then hitting 'PROMOTION' just takes me back to that soldier list.

-Downloaded Gus's fix (the one posted on Oct 30th 2018)

-Am using the Alternative Mod Launcher. Opened up this mod's folder through it, and clicked+dragged the extracted files from Gus's download and replaced all.

-Re-loaded my file (saved it at the glitchy Choose Class issue) and hit Promotion, took me to the Choose Class screen and I could choose a class!

If you want a workaround for not being able to promote, you can use Extended Console Commands the mod that allows you to set a soldier to a certain class/rank. @Jester Orion

Getting similiar. Trying to promote, goes straight to soldier roster. Got this and Pugilist installed, already deleted config files once before, didn't tab to it but selected directly. Also have Metal over Flesh Redux, otherwise nothing else to mess with it.

Danny, what mod(s) are you using to provide the classes? I'm using Brawn and it works for me.

Do you have other classes downloaded? I'll admit I've not tried it recently, but it always gave me a class selection screen.

Did you delete all your config files after downloading?
Did you TAB to get to the SPARK rather than selecting it?

Yeah I do and then it gets booted back to the avenger

Danny, once the Spark finishes building, go to the armory and select them.

Ok, so I reinstalled both mods, rolled back my save to before the Spark was created, played through again, and now it works!

Pillow, I reinstalled the latest version from this page, and Brawn, and while I get the utility slot from Brawn, I don't have the class support. Brawn still works properly for you?

I used in the meantime @GUS his fixed mod. After deleting it and resub -bg-´s mod I have a different matter to the error before. Now when I choose a spark the screen changes from the spark ´s ability view to the soldiers list. not working. I was right to choose the first spark after I installed the new mod. unsubed and installed @GUS fixed version. works. looks like there ist still some issues ( at least with my modded game). Great that @GUS was able to fix it so I can go on with my campaign with different sparks

if you guys cant install the mod manually (creating mod folder), is it possible to subscribe to this mod and replace this mod files with my version.
maybe that fixes?

I tried to manually install gus' most recent upload using these instructions:

Which file specifically do I need from the dropbox upload? Whenever I try to download the whole thing, Winrar tells me the file is corrupt.

@gus Thank you! That fixed the hang I was having where the UI would freeze up trying to promote a new spark.

@-bg- can you help me to understand your "known issue" ? Class selection will not appear if you tab to the classless SPARK in the ability screen.. how can I select a new class other than the way of select in the ability screen ?

UPDATE: Using the WOTC version of this mod, instead of this, has allowed me to get the menu up and working again, with all of the classes. I know I've used this version with no issues in WOTC before, so I don't know.

I went from all of the SPARK classes being happy, to only getting the SPARK, Stanchion, and Iconoclast to still work. Anytime I try to add the LW mecs as SPARKs I get the "empty promotion screen." I'm giving up before continuing to try and get the Pugilist back.

This is with a built SPARK, not Lost Towers.

I'm not sure what I added/deleted/or changed to break the house of cards I had that worked, but it worked on two different systems.

Welp, same problem as the others, I can't promote my spark because the screen is empty...

same issue. after finishing the tower, the screen to choose a spark shows nothing (WOTC TLP): ADDED info: deleted mod, installed mod, configfiles deleted . still the issue.

after the lost towers mission, the rewarded spark with this mod, the screen showing nothing and unsub , the problem still here... anyone can help?

If anyone using this mod cannot get certain other modder's SPARK classes to show up, make sure you double check the format of their SparkClasses in their .ini. They have drifted from -bg-'s original format, meaning their mod and this tend to clash.

I just rewrote them all back to this format and all WOTC compatible SPARK classes are so happy together.

your fix doesn't seem to be working, after I select the new spark post the lost towers mission, the screen stops updating.

So I'm using this mod. It is working for WOTC for me, however: if the spark gains experience before choosing a class, the experience will not transfer over after picking the sparks class.

What this means is: say you were debugging and promoted the barracks before choosing a class, then the spark would be at squaddie rank until you choose the class. This would normally not be an issue, but on some mods (such as the newly created Mechatronic Warfare mod, which gives you the ability to create a spark at captain rank) it breaks the benefits of creating a spark at that level. What can I do to fix that on my end?

Same issue as peridot. Spark health doesn't double using beta strike.

Any idea why /(potential mod conflicts) my sparks do not seem to be able to choose their class, even with their classnames added as the +sparkclasses ? I can actually make normal soldiers into the new spark classes via console, (e.g. from the Pugilist mod), but can't get my sparks to be able to pick either when created via console, or naturally. Could 100% be a mod conflict; just wondering if you had any idea what it was?

Is it possible to have the sparks have their health doubled properly when using Beta Strike?

so are there only 2 classes then?

Confirmed that the crash is gone on my mod.
