The commands are more keyboard keys to operate the jet, but you need to sit on the pilot seat to use them. Check the list of in-game controls and try them out with other vehicles or such. I suggest looking at tutorials or guides to understand Gmod mechanics if it is your first time.

In the GMod menu, there is a list of controls and their respective keys under Options -> Keyboard, which are applied to the jet (default keys in parentheses). The Wiremod pod controller has limitations on available controls, so it'll take some practice.
