Wtf is up with this mod everytime i open hoi4 a new version of this mod is added to my mods. I have like 10 versions of this mod on my mod list

ngl this mod is ♥♥♥♥, and no, its not because i have stalin as a pfp or its because i show sympathy to stalin and not lenin, like the mod is genuinely ♥♥♥♥, cities like stalingrad, stalino or leningrad didnt change, focus tree is dog water, trotsky or stalin arent field marshals or generals as you showed in the images. i heavily dont recommend you try this mod

But,

You might be able to update it by going into the Mod's files and update it manualy

ex: C:\Users\Trent\Documents\Paradox Interactive\Hearts of Iron IV\mod

From there you would have to open up each mod with notepad, and after you found the right one (by looking at the name), you might be able to make it update it from there.

If you wanted to edit the mods code (Grab the mods string of numbers from where you found it above), from there you would have to go to steam apps, and then workshop, find the mods matching number, and then you could open it.

There are two ways: Name the mod excatly like it's named here on Workshop, or upload it here again and delete the old one.

I don't think Lenin would have done well

A few things.

1) Lenin would have fought against the Nazis. He would never have signed any agreements with them, and the German Communist Party would have had a consistent and strong response to Facism. If the Nazis even managed to come to power, they would be facing a civil war by the Communists with Soviet backing.

2) A world in which Lenin lived wouldnt have seen the Chinese Communist Party go into alliance with the Koumintang, so no Shanghai Massacre. The CCP would be much stronger within China and with a mass base in the cities, not off in the countryside trying to build a peasant army. Chen Duxiu would be its leader, not Mao.

3)Communist parties across the world would be much stronger everywhere. Should give them all a bit of a boost.

Cool, I wish I could help but I don't know anything about modding.

I tried to do far too much at once. I've got a whole new focus branch but the modifiers/ideas aren't near finished. As for an ETA i've got no clue; hopefully I can get something done over the coming weekend.

Because it has been quite a while since anyone has commented, and this mod has greate potential, including how you said that there was going to be an update a while ago, when is the next update happening? I understand if school is taking up too much time to work on it

This seems to be incompatible with Historical Photographs, because when selecting the USSR you still get the photo of Stalin as leader, with no leader stats applying, and you don't get Trotsky available as a general. Also, can you do away with the choice between Collectivist Propaganda and Soviet Heroism, or rejig the table, because there is no reason why can't have both Progress Cult and Infrastructure Effort, for instance. If you think it's absolutely necessary for balance you can still lop off one of the Extra Research Slots, or give it a 1945 date delay or a massive factory requirement.

I've been away for a few days, so I'll respond to a few points some have made:
@swordofbacon As for city names: maybe. As for a third option, i planned on having cornman in, but I couldn't find any good paintings to doctor. Only plans for broseph and icepick exist.
@jeffanth Sounds good, i'll add in Charismatic.

It might be worth changing city names for this alternate history as well. Before the death of Lenin, Leningrad was renamed to Petrograd. You would also need to rename all cities named after Stalin, for example Stalingrad would remain Tsaritsyn and Stalino would remain Donetsk, etc. I would also recommend adding a third option besides Stalin and Trotsky, if possible, to the successor of Lenin in the form of a Soviet Council, working similarly to the way the Federal Council of Switzerland does in the game. Best of luck on the project as I find this to be one of the more interesting alternate history mods on the workshop.

Comrade Misha, Lenin didn't want anyone to succeed him though. He wrote similar letters denouncing most party members, and felt that all of them would best share power. He feared Stalin's expansionist power tendencies, but he also feared any one person taking over for him.

This might have been suggested already, but the party in charge of the communist ideology should probably be Leninist not Marxist. Just a suggestion. Love the mod :D

Trotsky had the ability to create an army of Farmes and Workers. He should have some good traits. Cool mod.

i think trotskey should hjave one or two traits , he would go around on a trtain inspiring the troops so maybe a morale bonus , and deliver food and supply's , maybe a bonus against attroition and he was also the guy who instituted the commisar system so perhaps a morale boost

I think Trotsky should have charismatic trait as this was his primary role moving around front inspiring people.

Stalin wasn't on Lenin's shortlist for successors, per se, when he died (quite the contrary), but since not really any other Old Bolshevik is even nearly as well known as Trotsky and Stalin are I can see why you chose to include the latter as a choice (Bukharin might been an interesting third option). Either way this is already a great mod.

@AtlasLegan It is a bug, the mutually exclusive code is bugged so that you can enable them both, if you select them in that order.
