Well making it hard to place the portals correctly was part of the idea ^^ Because I thought it's a bit too easy to have all your time and align the portals precisely to shoot any turret X)

Fun. I'd suggest allowing thw bowler to land on solid ground before flying back on the second faith plate. That way, the player can shoot the portal more precisely and plan the shots better.

Yep, I know the way you shoot the ball is not the best, but that's the first idea I came with when I thought about a "Portal Bowling" ;)

A really neat idea, I didn't like going back and forth on the faith plates though. Yes , I know, if you could just open up a portal it would be too easy, but isn't that the purpose here? In the end, this is a fun map. Anyway, really cool idea for a map, but I get the feeling it might be improved.

I did, it looks like I'm just hitting the glass from the faith plate if you approach it from that direction. Great map either way ^_^

Thumbs up, very fun indeed.

Not sure if this is a "bug" or not. If you tried to walk into faith plate from turret side, the first one sees you through the glass. Can't cross glass now when in the air, that turret won't let you. Is it just me?

Or put the turrets closer together, copy and paste them multiple times in that same area. But you got the general idea. :D

Yeah, I get that. What I recommended was placing multiple 10 turrets in the same room, like how real bowling allies have multiple lanes. Since you have a square space you could put some lanes behind the others, making two rows. I guess I just wanna see more turrets get "bowled" over, ROFL!

Well the "unknow" avatar sometimes randomly happen when the game failed to download the datas around the map correctly ^^ Nothing I can do to fix that ;)

And about the number of turrets, I placed exactly the same number as in a real bowling X) That's why there is not a lot of them ^^"

This was good. Though the fun was the combination of using the faith plate to place your portal and then launching the ball. I did feel like there weren't enough turrets, so perhaps you should place multiple tight groups of 10 turrets to make it more fun when they are hit, this assuming that hitting the front turret with the ball will cause a falling pin effect. Also I did like the mechanics behind launching the ball.

BTW, when you load the map, your avatar is present, but it says "by [unknown]". You might wanna fix that ;)

Did you try to use the faith plate after activating the light bridges?

Once the edgeless ball comes out and fits into the button which operates the two light bridges, players should either restart or die by jumping into the lazer field. But i had a lot fun killing the turrets;)

I managed to take out 2 turrets with 1 shot.
the rest, 1 at a time.
I did lock myself in with the safety sphere button.
but used quickload to get out.
maybe put a pedestal button in there to escape,
or some other re-design ?
like your favorite:
tractor beam (always on) pushes sphere onto button,
& remove panel.
love killing turrets.

The main difference between red painted ball and normal ball is that the normal ball may bounce and roll and can change trajectory and the painted ball will glide on the floor and go rite way. Here you will not see a lot of difference because of the speed of the ball, so if the paint fail, that's not really bad ;)

just need to push the dabry in to the filds on the eage to clear it but is it that you cant sporn them robots like you would a cube or some thing ?? but meh grate effort i did notes the ball dont always get coted in flow gel but dont seem to make a massive differance tbh

@<Moving-DEATH> : Yep, could always be better with Hammer, but I decided to use the PeTI editor only until I have no more idea with it ;) Then I will probably start mapping with Hammer and all the fun stuff it brings, like world portals and custom gels ^^

It seems like this map might be better served by the hammer editor and more complex geometries, i.e. curves; clever all the same, and I look forward to a sequel which employs the bounce-gel as well!

Now i tried your level, i even needed some help locating that the bagwall on the turret field was portable :). But it is a great attempt, thought as otheres have commented. Whats with the space above you? :)

A fun and different take on the bowling theme that I (and many others) have attempted. I liked that I actually had to do a bit of figuring things out before I could start throwing balls at the turrets and the use of faith plates to be able to reach the portable area was quite nifty! My attempt is far simpler by comparison!

@Erock : I created "the area above the main puzzle" during the first version of the game, just to allow people to come back if they accidentally fall in the Bowling and survived to the turrets ^^ Not sure if this could happen in the actual version, but I kept it, just in case ;)

@Rengor : As I said in a precedent comment, the speed gel allow the ball to glide on the floor instead of bouncing or rolling ^^
The idea of the long tunnel is to give more speed to the ball when launched by the faith plate ;)
And about the interdiction to fall in the pit before finishing, this was to avoid any tentatives of exploit or ninja-kill of the turrets :p

I like it.
It does add some skill having to place the portals quickly.
I was also wondering about the speed gel, doesn't seem necessary, if anything confuses a bit. The long tunnel off to the side also seems unnecessary.
No idea what the grate above is for, left over maybe?
Also seems unnecessary with the sphere button, just allow people to jump down there if they want to, they'll just get shot down, making the point of removing them first more obvious.

Fun map. I did find that it was time consuming killing all the turrets. Also the area above the main puzzle is interesting but not used. Perhaps make it so you need to put the ball up there on a button to open the final door. That would use the space nicely other than it just being a little hidden spot. # F4F please!

#F4F: Found this after you #F4F on one of my test chambers, chose to return the #F4F on this one as I had just posted my own take on the bowling theme. I must say, I like the way you did it. The speed goo covered ball is interesting, does it actually change the balls characteristics?

Hmmm... That's what I did at the beginning X) But there were no challenge at all this way : placing portals to the correct place is really easy and you shoot all turrets in a few balls...
But if you want a game where the aim is to use the minimum possible of balls, this could be a good improvement ^^ I can clone the map using this disposition if you are really interested ;)

I like the idea but its a bit boring jumping the faith place to place the portal.
