Nah, paradox servers should have nothing to do with steam mods. The last thing I can suggest is reinstalling the game entirely. If that doesn't change anything - considering that you're the only one with the problem - I just can't help. Sorry mate.

Hmmm.. maybe this has something to do with that absurdity about how we need to be online to get Admiral Chirpy? Recently, my connection to Paradox's servers is not being that stable. Internet here in Brazil is a weapons-grade (CENSORED).

Well, in standard scenario, the mod folder should be named "716290283" and should contain: "gfx" folder, "chirpyvariations_main.jpeg" and "descriptor.mod" file. If you folder doesn't and you tried to do actions from my previous message already, then make sure that the file name is "descriptor.mod", e.g. just rename it. Maybe that hepls.

There is a file called "descriptor" in folder but not a "descriptor.mod". Now, I don't know anything about modding, but maybe is the absence of the ".mod" in that file the cause of all this problem?

Hey, @paulo. I'm still unable to reproduce the bug you're encountering. Two suggestions.
1. Try to unsub, then go to Stellaris mod location "..steamapps\workshop\content\281990\" and purge folder "716290283" if it is there. Then resub and see if it helps.
2. If that ↑↑↑ doesn't help, go to subbed mod location (it would be "..steamapps\workshop\content\281990\716290283") and see if the "descriptor.mod" file is in there. Come back to me with that info.

Ok, got it. Will try to conjure something in couple coming days.

There is this red triangle with a "!" at the side of the mod in the launcher and when you put the mouse pointer over the triangle the message "There is a problem with the downloaded mod files. This mod is missing a descriptor file" appears.

Gah, what to do, what to do.. Can you cite the error message exactly as it appears? Maybe I'll try to unwrap the problem from there.

Maybe Paradox changed something about how the species are customized? I know nothing about mods, but that could be the reason behind all this mess.

The message appears in the launcher.

@paulo this is quite strange, I must say. The descriptor file is there, otherwise I wouldn't be able to upload it. Does the error happen in new game or only in existing one?

Did exactly as you said. I unsubbed the mod, then resubbed it again, and I'm happy to say your mod is working again. Thanks for the quick response.

Well, did some testing and it works fine, no issues. At least starting a new game. Plus, the launcher indicates no errors and I have the Galactic Paragons, all updated. Could you, maybe, unsub and resub again and see if it changes something?

Noticed the latest update for this mod (May 12th) broke the species portraits. And IIRC, when the DLC Galactic Paragons was released on the 9th, this mod was working properly before the mod itself was updated. I think either a fix, or downgrading to a previous version of the mod will fix it.

Either way I hope a fix can be remedied, because my favorite space empire uses this mod species portraits, and I can't play the game without it. Please and thank you.
