Still, having to ''bait'' the laser into hitting the first cube in the relay involved quite a bit of blind attempts.
Your stuff is always original and unique, but sometimes you can take things too far so that they involve less thinking and more frustrating attempts at precision.
But!! You acctually just need 1 cube to solve it.
Use these key bindings:
bind "j" "incrementvar sv_cheats 0 1 1" // Turn on/off the cheat mode
bind "v" "noclip" // Lets you fly though walls and "run faster"
bind "n" "notarget" // The laser no longer "sees" you and freezes
bind "Enter" "god" // Turn on invincibility
Turn on cheats (j), then press enter for "god mode", then n. Then use v to fly about and understand the map and how to place the cubes. When you think you have it set up, press n and let the laser hit you i.e. one of the cubes. Then press n again to freeze everything.
Once I had figured it out, freezing the laser would let me set things up at my leisure. Sure you can do it the without those cheats, but it is a real pain and will require a huge amount of trial and error.
Note: If you run into the laser, it doesn't hurt you. Weird, eh?
