I believe the reason for the gel was because of size restrictions. I didn't want to enlarge the map so you could fling across at the time. I'll revisit the file and see if I can make any adjustments.

Yeah, but you need both the fling and the gel, and you should really change the gel. Like you said, it wouldn't be realistic.

That wouldn't be realistic to the Portal trailer. You're supposed to use the pit to fling across.

You should replace the gel spots with portal-friendly panel, even though the gel's more fun.
