Boyz, there is no f*** reason to update this mod. It will always works as long as Germany has its original map - path.

i like the vanlia version of the flag and putting the nazi symbol in it makes it nice and not to radical.can you please get off your ass and update it, please and thank you, because no one else has created this type of flag-mod.

Thanks! I was using the political flag until now but I suppose that it makes more sense to use the war flag since this is a game of war.

It's pretty easy to update that yourself: 1.Extract the .zip File of the Mod (historical_german_war_flag.zip) inside "C:\Users\{YOUR USERNAME}\Documents\Paradox Interactive\Hearts of Iron IV\workshop\content\394360\698741406 (don't know if the numbers are the same for everbody tough)" 2. open the "descriptor.mod" file with notepad++ or something similar 3. change the line "supported_version="1.0.0" to "supported_version="1.0.*" 4. repack it again as historical_german_war_flag.zip = Done! You will need like one minute for it.

My best guess to do is: Just include it in the mod description and make smth so ppl read it.
Smth in the titel that says "READ DESCRIPTON / IMPORTANT" could be helpful. And in the description you explain that the mod works in updated versions of the game aswell even though it says that its outdated, because the required version is still 1.0.0 instead of 1.0.1 or 1.0.*

Nope you dont ;). I totally could upload a "new" mod with the exact same stuff but it would be 1.0.1 mode. But getting everyone to update to this one is kinda.... You know what i mean. Thanks for your words though ^^

Even though I know that the mod works anyway, the warning in the launcher kinda bothers my "OCD".
I am not saying you owe us to fix this, quite the opposite, I am grateful that you took the time and created this mod without any personal gain. So even if you just turned around and never bothered to check with this mod again, I would still remain grateful. It is just that while I admit to being clueless when it comes to workshop updates I know that it must be possible because one of the other flag mods updated to the patch. And if I am not mistaken you somehow did it before when you changed the flag to the newer one. Again, I hope I don't sound ungrateful, because I am not.

I doubt that the developer will ever change the way flag mods work. Its literally a simple texture edit, so I guess you are fine. But people might think that the mod wont work because of the message appearing in the launcher

Thanks for the help but all trying did not succeed. But as it stand now it should be compatible with all upcoming updates if they don't change anything major. Will still try to update the file

To update: 1 Make sure your not subscribed to your own mod.
2. It's the exact same way you uploaded the mod the first time but you press FETCH INFO first. Keep all the information and names the same.

Well I know that you can update Steam Workshop items.

Do it aswell without creating a new mod. But I also know for a fact that working with the Steam Workshop aswell as working with collections can be a real pain in the balls.

Hopefully you will figure a way out how to fix it just in case if the developer would change the way how flag mods work >_>

Well the thing is, swastikas aren't included in the original version of the game either.
But things like the picture of Adolf Hitler made completly dark and unrecognizable? Eh......

I disagree with censorship in basically every way possible so when I saw that the german version actually had censorship I had no other choice but to buy it elsewhere so I wouldn't have that issue. It just feels wrong.

I still like the war flag more than the political flag, even in vanilla as it looks not as simple as the political flag, which I find nice. Anyways, enough of that.


Even though, I am still curious how some mods change and adjust over 180 flags of the 300 smth flags ingame just for the historical accuracy which should have been delivered by the publisher himself. I don't get it.

Dont feel bad :P Here it is law and it ok the way it is. No publisher wants to take this case to court. He would be the publisher who fights for the swastiska. But luckily there are ways around it and we have mod support :)

Nice flag, but for absolute historical accuracy, the national flag is prefered.

So as it begins. Every stuff that is writen here which encourages Nazis, Nationalism and Racist and or has to do with paroles will be deleted immediatly! So dont even try.

A shame paradox had its balls removed and is too afraid to have historical accuracy in their games

Swastikas are in Wolfenstein games and they are in steam, it won't be deleted as it's just a game without nazi propaganda. Unless Paradox does something of course. Thx for the pics :)

Its the flag of faschism and very very bad stuff. But this flag is history! And it should be treated as such. As long as we have in mind what happend under this flag and are aware of this, i am totally fine with it. Its History that should never happen again. Period
