My every attempt to remove this mod (because it's been depreciated) has caused old save files with it installed to crash. Anyone else getting this? Be wary if you're getting CTD's on loading.

I see this in the latest June patch notes [xcom.com]:
Fixed an issue with Wet Work where kills were not being tracked for the correct unit

I don't really follow if that fix deprecates this one..?

@-bg- I made a narrative hook Wet Work customization mod, i allow the rank to be customized by inserting a variable (the unlock, not the ability itself). I just want to confirm even after scanning your code that this is compatible with your fix. I have listed your fix as being required for my changes. Thank you.

Since the original creator of that mod is no longer updating anything after the removal, I guess I can recreate a similar one.

Hey, -bg-, I don't know a better way to get in contact than through a comment on a mod of yours so i'm going to ask here.
You're actually one of my favorite system/fix modders and I figured I'd ask you this: You know the More Than 15 Abilities mod no long exists, that's fine. I'm... Not quite sure of my abilities to recreate it, so I figured i'd ask a good modder to do it and I thought about you. Would it be possible? Would there be anything I can do to convince you to do that?

Yeah it is different, but it does contradict your assertion that mods, as a rule, don't disable achievements. And since this mod, although a bug-fix, directly changes game setting I had to wonder whether it had any effect on ironman achievement. Anyway, I think we've beat this dead horse enough.

@Prismbot: Yeah, didn't search enough then. But bronzeman directly modifies the ironman-mode into something slightly different, so there it's understandable, I guess. But ok.

You obviously didn't search enough, there was even a post by a forum mod where he assumed some mods did disable it.

Here's one specific case though:

"Except you don't get the achievement for ironman when you play bronze."
"says who?"
"Says the author of the mod. Go ahead. Check the mod's comments."

Yeah, I asked in the comment section of the mod I was interested in knowing about. I'd think that would be the best place to address the author of this mod in regards to this specific mod. If anyone else wanted to chime in then that's fine, although I would give more weight to the author's answer. And as as a friendly suggestion, it's ok to ignore things that bother you, you'll end up giving yourself a heart attack otherwise.:steamsad:

@Prismbot: Just to answer why it bothers me personally so much: It's something genereal and searching the forums again I still couldn't find where you saw that they would disable it for XCom2, only saw people saying it should do that, but not a single that it did...then again only checked the first 2 pages and their complete threads of search-outcomes. Well, whatever, you also asked into the comment-section, not the mod-author directly...and yes, that's a difference, even if a small... :x

Well I actually did search the board and found conflicting information with many saying that a few mods did disable the achievement. That's why I asked the author since he would likely have a definitive answer. Not sure why this bothers you so much since the question wasn't posed to you. I'll take your word for it though and if I don't get the achievement, oh well.

@Prismbot: I know that some games deactivate achievements etc. with mods. But for XCom2 the rule is that nothing is done to achievements by using mods, as a quick search through the forum could have told you. It's less me myself answering them, then seeing this just way too often. :Aste_Fio:

Maybe for this game but several games do disable ironman when certain mods are activated. I learned this the hard way with Crusader Kings 2. Since this isn't just a cosmetic mod I thought I'd ask. I guess you've become bitter from having the answer the same question many times though so my apologies if I triggered you :p

Since we're on PCS bugs.. Don't equip willpower enhancing ones before hitting max level. When gaining a rank, soldiers will always revert to 100 will if they have more. If you then unequip, say, a 30 will PCS, you'll have a colonel with 70 willpower.

PCS bonuses are retroactive, but there is also a bug related to it, the PCS bonus increases the PCS stats by a certain percentage rounded, but it always rounds down when removing the bonus, allowing you to keep swapping them for infinite stats.

also helping hand continent bonus is disabled, you must be using some mods to reactivate it and it is not working

it is still possible to get just 1 item in the loot after researching vulture, 25% on advent units

@Numbers, I don't see why not? @bg, Here is something I know that is broken that could be fixed: the helping hand continental perk never actually gives a free engineer. Pretty lame, if you could fix that that would be appreciated.

I'm not sure whether it's this mod, another mod, or the game default, but I've noticed that Vulture doesn't seem to be working for me. Just picked up some dropped loot and the only thing there was an Elerium Core. The description of vulture makes it sound like that should be impossible.

Between this and lightning strike I'm startin to wonder if anythin in the gts besides squadsize bonuses work lol. Has anyone looked to see if advanced pcs changes the pcs values of soldiers who already have them? I've been suspicious that this doesn't work right for quite some time.

@GreatOldOne: While I agree, it's pure stupidity to not at least look for stuff like that if there is Mod-Support. But yeah, Firaxis doesn't give a damn about bugs, smokeys and Hazmat Vest proved that perfectly, until they were "fixed"...after Mods fixed them...go figure why they fixed them at all...

Thanks for this, but I'm a little troubled by the fact that bug fixes which should be on the developer to fix end up as Mods in the workshop. Having things that are clearly bug fixes as a mods doesn't do much for the people who don't bother to use Mods.

@Ser Lancelot: Well, the Smokeys not working at all was even worse and proved that their was no proper testing of all the items themselves...also, to answer your question: Wet Work was made not being retroactive in Anarchy's Children-Patch(iIrc, if not, someone correct me, pls). :iffy:

Reddit has a more detailed description. Sounds like Wet Work was doing something really stupid (and hard to explain) but basically just doesn't work. This mod fixes that.

I'm not 100% sure but my first look at the code of this makes me think that wet work might not have been granting bonus XP if you got a kill with a special power such as deadeye or something. I'm really not entirely sure though.

you might want to reword your description as what it says is that if my characters dy on the alien team by a xcom soldier or is that what it is meant to say i am confused
