Works for 2.6, doesnt work with Lithoid expantion pack species though. Other species work fine.

@Deagroth, the issue I was having was without making the manual edits you did yourself. This was the mod as standard loaded.

Considering I disable any other trait mod I had along with this one, and then enabled them one by one with no issue until this one, I know this was the culprit.

In typical slow ass fashion, I have done a version update to 2.0 and added machine empires as an option. A thank you to Deagroth for doing all the thinking for me on that one. :steamhappy:

Are you absolutely sure you had nothing else enabled? I just loaded this into my heavily modded game and had no issues. This doesn't override anything so the update wouldn't have affected it, but other mods that do alter vanilla content can cause issues. Especially if they try to just replace a whole vanilla file instead of adding their own stuff in.

So, I had a wierd bug, with both my hive mind, and my machine empire.

They were effected by happiness for one, and my machine empire was hit with habitability and could not colonise anywhere.

After ages of going through mods and eliminating them one by one, unfortunately this mod seems to be the culprit. When it comes to trait selection, hive mind is missing the default 0 point hive mind trait, and the machines are missing the 0 point machine trait respectively.

After disabling bountiful traits and resaving the empires. Both worked as intended, and had the default 0 cost traits in their lists. I don't know what about bountiful traits is causing this but I thought I should let you know.

For anyone who wants this to work with the machine race, you can go into 55_species_traits.txt and change

allowed_archetypes = { BIOLOGICAL }

to

allowed_archetypes = { BIOLOGICAL MACHINE }

This will make it show up for the machine appearances with the Synthetic Dawn DLC. This change is needed because those appearances use the MACHINE species archetype. The same
goes for any modded race that uses it's own custom species archetype.

It does work, unless you are a machine race. If you choose machine after having selected the bountiful trait it will change to red and say "Requires one of the following Species Archetypes: Biological"

If you choose a machine appearance/race before selecting it, it simply doesn't show up.

I've been away from Stellaris for some time, but this mod was working for me then, not now. The race I created under 1.7.1 still shows "Unique Insight", but now it says I must select "one of the following species archetypes" then there is nothing to choose, it just shows "Remove Trait". The trait points say I have 25, but I am only allowed to select 4 in addition to "Unique Insight" Creating a new race is no better, Unique Insight doesn't even show up in the list. I haven't added any new mods, and Bountiful Traits was working with all the mods that I am using, the last time I played. The only change is that this is now 1.8.2

Is there any chance you would be willing to make a "lite" version that is only worth -10 Traits, but still has the 10 Trait cap?

The mod's been updated for 1.5.1 and the amount of traits you can pick has been fixed now too.

the can indeed have this trait but they'll have random trait so the chance to have a overpowered combo is low

went into the files, he uses a "00_species_traits" file as well, his must overwrite yours, when you ran it it may not have overwritten your files. it looks like it may just be a matter of load order of the mods for some people.

Ran the game with the mods you mentioned + Bountiful Traits. The Unique Insights trait was available for use. Perhaps there's another mod you're using that's interfering with this one, but these three are compatible.

Addiitional Traits by Granhyt, Yet another Traits Mod by personjerry, and Extended Traits are the other trait mods.

I haven't actively done anything to change the outposts. Can you tell me what other mods you're running. The Unique Insight trait is usually at the very bottom of the list. Thanks!
