It's not permanent, the game just doesn't cleanly remove it from the objective list due to reasons I don't quite get yet, if you check the list of active dark events proper (go to the screen showing pending dark events, then click on the button that shows active ones), you should see it's not there after initial activation.

Great work as always RealityMachina. You really are the premiere modder of XCOM 2.

Is there a way to edit the exact values of the healing? I feel a percentage health regain is a bit cozy for a Dark Event and want to change it to a full heal.

@YggdrasilsSword I'd like to second this notion. To be honest I miss the rulers once they are dead and wish it was a little more procedurally generated, this is the closest I can get to having rulers be a constant threat that take persistence to take down.

This is a great Dark Event, really hits where it hurts! I might sound crazy, but I'd like to actually increase the recovery a smidge. Just from 25% to 33% (approximately one health bar). I'll probably edit the script to do that, but might be a good feature to have as an editable ini or MCM value, if possible

@fanatic furry filth. when you started the game, did you turn off the narrative for it? if you do then the rulers show up randomly. you need to leave the narrative turned on; then the rulers only show up after you complete their intro mission

I had an encounter with a Ruler Viper before I had even done anything remotely related to the DLC pack...

I downloaded this before actually playing the DLC. While this mod itself definitely accomplishes what it sought out to accomplish -- and is therefor a good mod -- I just cannot have it.

Seriously, those fuckers are hard enough as it is. Also it teeechnically doesn't make sense in the lore, as the Ruler Aliens are not really aligned with ADVENT.

Basically, good mod -- but I am too much of a babby to play with it.

Great mod. I like it!. I need to ask you if you could create a mod which aims on the ruler armor. Their special abilities can only be used a few times in a whole mission and I think that is pretty cheap. Could you change it? If the abilities would be on cool down for a few turns and then available again would be pretty nice. Thanks anyways!
