You can switch to stellaris version 2.1 and see it loads fine.
Why it so slow now? Idk, stellaris devs broke something.

I tried to run this mod and its kind of working, at least map loads without crush.
Still it took a lot of time to load.

About barren worlds, did you tried without other mods?

Can access to shield world from Fallen Empires, some empire started on barren worlds and generating normal setups give only a big square of stars. Heh.
