I was using the Flexes tool from the Enhanced Playermodel selector to remove the mask. I was able to remove the mask for a short duration before it resurfaced. The other flexes worked fine though.

If you are able to use it, yes, it should be fine.
But I have around a year and a half experience with 3DS, be warned it takes quite some time to learn the programs.
