I really like the shottie sound.
I made a very similar sound myself i use in Quake 3 and in a mod for Quake 3 that I edited to include my own sound too.

I will listen a bit more to the other sounds too.

*cough* sounds you can't psound out you can rename to mp2 and dump em in foobar and yes there are oodles and oodles of unused voices (and other ambitious crap I should cover)

there was more to q3r than it meets the eye.
