Is it about time Culture Japan has to be updated now? Bingles' Civ IV Traits in Civ V, JFD and Pouakai's Mercenaries, JFD's Cities in Development, JFD's Exploration Continued Expanded, and other mods are already discontinued in light of the recent updates. Vice Virtuoso's Wish for the World is no longer supported anymore since Vice Virtuoso is already in Civ VI. Thus, it needs to be updated. Culture Japan's only mod support will be Cultural Diversity and YnAEMP. In addition, Culture Japan will have mod support from JFD's Rise to Power - (Gameplay) Sovereignty as well.
Also I have a lot of different mods, but the majority of them are Civ mods, not so much anything that changes the game. Aside from like a new unit or two from the Enlightenment mod, most just throw in new characters.
Would you be able to let me know what circumstances this is happening? Such as, if this is any time you try to select a Smart Robot, or after a few turns have passed? And do you have any other mods enabled?
Late report: JFD's mod, Conflict Resolution Patch, has its own UnitPanel.lua. I'm afraid his mod will not be compatible with Culture Japan mod, so thus, it will be included in the list of mods that are blocked by Culture Japan.
Unfortunately, terrible bad news may have reached me as the forum members of Civilization Fanatics Center forum, particularly E. Conundrum, Chrisy15 and others have already been alerted.
@nicovallejos
I am fine with Mirai's war theme as it is as I wanted something modern to suit the modern aesthetic of the civilization.
Ethnic Units and R.E.D may be old and no longer maintained, but they are still perfectly usable - I have just re-downloaded and tested them (with this civ) and they work. If you have trouble downloading them you can use steamworkshopdownloader dot com .
Whenever I get around to updating this I could have Mirai's XCOM squads use the retrograde suit model, if that's what you mean.
@WandererSilent
Thank you for your really nice comment - I'm pleased you like the civ
@olit
Mirai's biases are set to give her a generally friendly approach, though Sorunia Mirai has a higher chance of going to war and may have a high value depending on the randomisation of biases. I did see a Sorunia Mirai conquer a lot in one of my test games so it's not out of the question.
For the leader screen it's more supposed to be an anime-like closed-eye smile rather than blinking, so that's why it gets "stuck".
@olit
I'm afraid that the War theme for Mirai Suenaga has to be changed. The theme, 'Empire of the Sun' is from Hearts of Iron IV: Waking The Tiger.
Everyone, as for those who played this mod, I'm very sorry but Ethnic Units by @Pre Vizsla, and R.E.D by @Gedemon, all are no longer supported and are no longer playable in Civ V.
The only minor problem i had is the thing with her blinking in the leader screen. While it works at first, from some point on i always see her with closed eyes in the diplo screen (which she only opens for a moment, i think it should be the other way around?)
She also plays a bit passive from my experience, i often see her getting mangled by more agressive civs.
Other than that though, the mod is really fun to have in game, thank you very much for it.
2. Is there a chance for seeing these two civilizations merged into one and keeping their bonuses and unique units?
So far its my favorite mod. Great job on unit models and images. Mirai blinking at you as you exit diplo is cute af.
I hope this needs a change of Culture Japan's war music to that one composed by Andreas Waldetoft, from Hearts of Iron IV DLC expansion, Waking the Tiger. Japan's theme music is entitled "Empire of the Sun".
It can be found in YouTube: https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=6ynu8ho6kos
It does not work with EUI because that has its own modified UnitPanel.lua which will be overwritten by this mod. You can try (re)moving this mod's UnitPanel.lua but that will likely disable the Smart Doll's gifting ability.
Thanks for your comment - I enjoy putting a lot of work into the diplomacy text so it's nice to see it appreciated ^^
UnitPanel.lua defines the part of the interface that lets you control units. I include a copy with this mod that allows adding custom unit missions, which was needed for the Smart Doll's gifting effect.
This mod will still work without it, but you won't be able to gift the Smart Doll unit for Tourism. The normal gifting option - that just transfers the unit - will still be there, however (and is in fact still there with the custom UnitPanel.lua as well).
(Sorry for a late reply.)
I went and searched my mods for a file called "UnitPanel.lua". I found and tested to confirm that the issue was caused by a mod conflict between this mod and a mod called "Enhanced User Interface" or "EUI" (http://forums.civfanatics.com/showthread.php?t=512263) .
I would really like these mods to work together, so if there is anything else you can do to solve this conflict, that would be great. Do you know if deleting the "UnitPanel.lua" from my modpack would cause any issues?
Do the unit commands at the left side of the screen fail to appear? If you're using any mod that includes "UnitPanel.lua", it may cause this issue.
@♥♥♥♥♥♥ TJ
Sorry, I neglected to check those mods for conflicts earlier, and I cannot see your image either. However, glad to hear that you like it. :)
if it would let me control my units in a new game.
May I request a fix?
♥♥♥♥♥♥♥♥♥ this is really well tought trough, amazing!
additional modern buildings, city banner plus, city limits, faster aircraft animations, future worlds, grisaia series CIRS, haifuri high school fleet, neptunia planeptune mk2, less warmongerer hate, mc`s scotland, nekopaia la soleil, pallada class protected cruiser, quiet diplomacy, stronger guided missiles, pontoon bridge, three gorges dam wonder, touchou byokuren`s myouren temple, touhou toyasatomimia no mika, wonder race and culture japan.
for your intrest, i did try playing with this civ without any other mods and it didnt crash the second i selected the smart doll.
That is probably true, but since it may be due to a mod conflict I need to know what you're playing with so I can troubleshoot the issue.
Are you playing with any other mods?
Also use that enhanced user interface? i think its called, which had a conflict with the UnitPanel.lua, i deleted this mods copy of it as i wasn't too sure on what to do for that
then Future Worlds, adds techs,units and improvements (or it could be this that CTD's culture japan)
(on Side Note: those Rom/Ram twins of lowee really do not like Mirai Suenaga of Sorunia, two wars before turn 20
I've not used the Community Patch before, so I don't know why that would cause a crash, but I can certainly check it out. What version of the CP are you using, and are you using the Community Balance Patch and the other components as well?
Glad you like Sorunia though. :)
all the civs are Enderons neptunia civilizations, and use that Community Patch, which i wonder if thats the cause
seems to be no issue with Sorunia tho, currently playing it, and its awesome
They're intended to be able to be used simultaneously. What's the issue you're having?
I'll get onto that when I next have time after work, right now too busy with stuff to go hunting out files. Sorry about that.
Its a mixture of both Vice's and Endoran's Hyperneptunia mods (just to see if thats affecting things as well) But it's the Neptune civ that basically has Histoire allowing you to run a city normally otherwise its a Puppet city.
Ah, sorry. You don't need to isolate a specific part of the log - just upload the whole file (or its contents) somewhere and link it to me. Just make sure that you change bDebug to equal true in Mirai_Functions.lua (it's in the Lua folder of the mod's folder), so the debugging messages for Mirai appear. You can open that file in Notepad or another plain text editor.
To ensure it's actually some bad interaction with another mod, do you get the crash when building Smart Dolls when only this mod is enabled?
I assume this is Vice Virtuoso's Neptune you're talking about? I can at least try playing with that enabled myself to see if I get your issue with the interface.
I would do but I have absolutely no idea which part of the log contents you will need. I follow the advice given but I haven't a clue whats what, I'm not that tech savy when it comes to finding files for programs and stuff.
It might be one of the other civ mods that I have running since all the civs in my current game are other anime based civs. Like today I loaded up the same game file and for some reason I had the interface options for the Neptune civ even though I'm playing as the Millenium version of Mirai. But on the flip side the worker keys showed up more though so must be a conflict with the other mods.
Also I haven't added any other mods other than extending the technology tree and anime civs.
If you can supply the logs when the crash occurs, that might help me figure out what's going on.
Also, I've not encountered that Worker issue, either. For both cases, are you using other mods alongside this one? If you are, it might be some sort of mod conflict.
