I am only getting normal scales.

The only way this mod could be better is Deathscale Armor, or armor made from Alduin's scales. Not quite sure how you would acquire these however. Alduin evaporates once you kill him. Perhaps enough scales to craft a complete set of Deathscale armor will be added to your inventory when you kill him. Or maybe like the Crimson Scales, there's a chance of finding Alduin's scales when killing a normal dragon.

at the moment alduin dies, his body fell apart.
Why should'nt lie some of his scales at his lair?
And, yeah, i know it would be a big retexture and stuff,
but:
I can kill a dremora and rip off his heart, who's returning to oblivion.
As an Dragonborn i would collect a trophy.
- from my MOST FEARED ENEMY! Why not the scales?

(think the armor should be gernerally 'heavy', desite it's scaley look.
Its -Alduin-. He looks like living metal,
but his body isn't "bigger" or less aerodynamically than other Dragon's.
His Bones are fading away,
so it would be simply logical, that his armor is a heavy, light-looking scale armor.
And not that overdone, bulky piece of crap other modders made.)

Been a long time since I've played Skyrim, still love this mod, I haven't checked yet actually but have you considered making this work with the digitigrade Khajiit and Raptor Argonian mods?

You forgot to make one for Serpentine Dragons. They are rare, and only appear at very high levels, but those bluish silvery scales deserve an armor too.

Where is Alduin armor ?

can you consider making a patch that adds scales for the dragons from the mod Diverse Dragons? i know it would be a lot of work, so i understand if not! both mods would work beautifully together

thank you! I don't usually save more than two copies of each game. So I have two current copies of any active game. No old saves.

@Marowak are you just quicksaving? It's a good idea to keep saves before you install each mod just incase something goes wrong with the download, or a compatibility issue comes up. You can also use the additem console command. After you open the console and type help pale for a list of paarthurnax related item codes. Then player.additem itemcodehere 1.

I don't have an older save...oh well.

@Marowak did you try killing paarthurnax more than once (reloading a save from before the fight and killing paarthurnax again)? There is a script which runs in the background that adds the new scales, but there is a small window where it resets. You may have killed Paarthurnax during this window.

Paarthurnax didn't drop anything other than regular dragon scales....I don't have any other mod that affects dragons. Yes, I have all the DLC add-ons.

@Sir Edhelsereg Perhaps the dragonplate armor could be a variation in how the plates are set to create different aesthetics based on each type of dragon? As in: Frost dragons aren't just blue, they're more smooth and the Frost armor has less spikes to it. Ancient dragon plate has smaller bone fragments that make it appear more articulated. Etc.
I truly like the mod.

@Sir Edhelsereg That's a good question. I'd think something more subdued, less ostentatious than these armors, since Dragonplate is Heavier armor than Dragonscale. Possibly some the colors of their respective dragons in the crevices of the bones in the DragonPlate armor? I'd be happy to try to mock up some concepts if you'd like, I'm not good at actual texturing though haha

@Private Hix I've gotten that request a lot, and I'm not really sure what to make of it. In game all dragons share the generic model skeleton (which would be awesome to change so the skeletons matched each species), but what visual/effective difference would the bones of each species have?

Is there any chance that you'll make a version of this mod for DragonBone armor as well?

@Legion you need to have max smithing skill to get the perk. Also, the recipes won't show up until you have the new scales in your inventory.

@smcgreeny so the new scales were dropping before and now they are not? It is possible that you are killing the dragons in a small window (fraction of a second) when the script is refreshing.

Love this mod but lateley the custom scales have not been dropping for me. Are some scales just more rare?
