Well, I found out that buildings can be placed Underwater, and found a secret flank on a map, which was underwater, and since I use the Eureka Effect, I can get behind the enemy and kill people, and then get back home when needed

It'd be great if we could get some pillars with mayan carvings on them, but these should suffice if pillars are never added to the mayan pack

Turning them into func_entities is fine, but hammer does have the capability of compiling entities from brushes, you just need to be able to write the QC file for it.
May I have your permission to use these pillars in my map?

Oh, you meant "the most efficient" as in creation, not in terms of performance. That makes sense.

Yeah, I've made them all into the func_detail entity. I just created them using the brush tool.

Yea, I heard it's a good idea to make complex brushes into entities (maybe when you have multiple copies or it's very complex). Saves memory or something. Though, I'm not 100% if I remember that source correctly; you'd have to look that up.

I made the pillars myself using the block tool. Probably not the most efficient way, but it worked.

Where'd you get those pillar props, by the way? I kind of really need some pillars.
Are they just a different skin of the egypt pillars?

It's Viaduct + Borneo + Egypt/Lakeside. Oh, and if you are going to add water, notice that people do not like swimming (aka tactical disadvantage) if they are in combat. So if you are going to add water, make sure it's added sparingly or shallow enough to walk on.

They are actually custom. They're from Heyo's Jungle pack. The link is in the map description.

I believe the jungle trees got added with pl_borneo. I doubt it's custom anymore.

Adding in something like wooden walls or big stones in the big open area could help so you cant get sniped as easily

Thanks, man. As I said I appreciate the feedback. I've added a couple of barriers to get in the way of some of the more overwhelming sniper sight lines. Hopefully it's a step in the right direction.

Another way of putting it is: It's not the best map design. You can even look at those screenshots alone without playing, and know what'll happen the second 1 very good sniper gets on the server.
