yeah understood but renameing a mod take less then no effort, and it might be needed if "only rifle users now have shotguns."

a question about the "ini file", can I not just add an aditional command/layer
AllowedWeapons=(SlotType=eInvSlot_PrimaryWeapon, WeaponType="shotgun")
to allow a class to use shotguns, or can I only change an already chosen primary weapon?

I feel very bad for asking this but I don't know 2 craps about modding for this game, so it's perfectly fine if you say 'no', but do you think you could add the shotgun for the sharpshooter? Again, if you say no, it's fine, and that will be the end of it. :steamsalty:

Does this include Sharp Shooters? I know it's literally the exact opposite of the type of weapon they are meant to use, but along side the pistol, I feel like a sharp shooter with a shotgun would actually work surprisingly well, ya know?

Oh for Rookies? I have no idea how that would work, but I know that they don't function like the other classes. Grimy is an excellent coder you should ask him he seems to already know.

nah i mean making a change similar to this, but to let Rookies use secondaries. I tried making these same changes, but 4 the secondary (allowedweapon=) etc but according to grimy it doesn't work because pistols are associated with a skill. copy and pasting the snipers firepistol skill ability code under Rookies in DefaultClassData.ini doesn't work either.. i don't know if i'm doing it wrong or if they actually need to be given a second weapon slot

You don't need the SDK to do that, this is purely a ClassData INI edit.

Hey ADVENT, I just finished downloading the SDK a little while ago after 3 days lol, I installed it solely to try and give rookies the skill Fire Pistol so it gives them a secondary weapon slot (simply adding the line under their thingy in DefaultClassData.ini doesn't work) ... but.. ya know, I have no idea what I'm doing :steamhappy:

This is the closest mod i've seen that gives things to Rookies so I thought you might be able to help.

@Ser Lancelot I wouldn't know how they coded it I don't use the SMG pack, but if its like base weapons it's just 1 line of code. You would put something along the line AllowedWeapons="smg", you should post on their page

ADVENT, along the same lines, how do you allow Snipers to equip SMGs from the SMG Pack? It looks like a simple addition of the "primary weapon" lines in the .ini files, but it doesn't seem to work like that? @Dracleos I dont think the Suppression animation works with other weapons. I havent tested, but I know if you give a Specialist the Suppression Perk, he will not fire anything out of his rifle. It also doesnt check if you're holding a Shotgun. The game is a little less mod-friendly than one would think from all the dev chat.

i dont want to be rude, but there is a mod that lets you equip every class with every weapon, soooo... still every option is a good idea

@Cpt. Awesome USMC This will not allow Grenadiers to equip shotguns. It would cause too many problems, only already supported classes are available (Rookie, Specialist, PSI Op).

@RRDELR There is nothing preventing you from "balancing" both weapons. I know I did. They are now both sides of the same balanced coin. Shotgun high crit high short range accuracy slightly more damage. It has 3 bullets. The rifle has 4 bullets, better range, and some crit but a little less than the Shotgun. Basically I swap them around according to the taste of the moment.
