Garr incorporated happy to hear that, drop a link in the comments.

For anyone's information, I have made an expanded version of this mod, with more voice lines, cleaner cuts and much less repetition. Unfortunately, it only runs on WotC; I am not sure if it can be cooked without that requirement.
Usually it is not classiest to advertise on other people's pages, but...

A voice over mod has no intrinsic merit, unless inordinate satisfaction could be considered a virtue.

@Bud
As stated at the very top of the top of the description, this mod is compatible with War Of the Chosen. Creating a second mod will only make for two versions that do the same thing except one is forwards compatible while the other isnt backwards compatible.
If you are playing WOTC this mod will work just fine despite any warnings.
Bud 25 nov 2020 om 0:07
will this ever be updated for chosen...?

@Monthly Deplorable ok, I guess that i can use the voice for a psi-operative, just imagine that the psionic powers are doing something weird to their voice.
BYE BYE DADA  [auteur] 20 dec 2019 om 4:15
@4pastmidnight removing the etheral aspectthis won't be possible, as it was present in the core game files. I added a "telephone" affect to bring the voice as close as I could to xcom style radio with what I knew at the time.
4pastmidnight 19 dec 2019 om 10:41
have you been able to remove the "ethereal" effect on the voice? I am asking because i find it kinda clashes with the sound design of xcom 2

I love this mode, I just would like it that the sound wasn't so earrape.
Bearclaw27 8 okt 2018 om 6:08
I just learned that they've created a voicepack for Dota with new, custom lines. Idk if this has them all, but some here: https://dota2.gamepedia.com/Darkest_Dungeon_Announcer_Pack_(ft._Wayne_June)
XCOMrades 24 jun 2018 om 6:26
Are you planning to add phrases from DD updates which trigger upon regular healing, buffs, debuffs and getting a horror (Stress over time)? All of those can be found on DD wiki.
Iceberg 25 feb 2018 om 0:13
It's almost the same. Would be good for a psi character

@JohnnyMedieval
As stated in the very first sentence above, this mod is compatible with war of the chosen despite the warning.
A WOTC version won't be released since it's already compatible. Making a new mod would be pointless as it would simply create two version one of which wouldn't work with the base game. This holds true for all voicepacks.
JohnnyMedieval 20 sep 2017 om 21:27
Please update for War of the Chosen?
iceman18 3 sep 2017 om 10:11
the mod seems Cool. A voice mod I would like to see, would be Ron Pearlman's Hellboy voice mod, just a thought

Wayne June also narrated Call of Cthulu, if you're determined to really crank this mod to 11 theres dozens of hours of him just reading audiobooks. I love DD tanks for bringing this to life

@War Machine
Thank you
@Broken Beyond Repair
Like many other people, long war mod has gotten me hyped about xcom again. This mod might get some long overdue love. The biggest obstacle has been me getting a hold of updated wayne june voice files. I feel like I should get those first before I work on this agian.
War Machine 16 jan 2017 om 9:48
Love this mod. It's my favorite voice mod in this game. So awesome. Thank you.
Boshty 2 sep 2016 om 12:34
Ghengis... just one.... as there are many other wacky voice packs for the others ^^ I like to build my soldiers to match the voices. You should see the guy ive got for this. 20+ armor packs = awesome soldier combinations.
Nomad 5 jul 2016 om 14:06
Man, being a fan of The Darkest Dungeon i almost instantly clicked subscribe. I know that you put alot of effort in this mod but it's sound quality just stopped me from doing so. It woudl be amazing if you could recreate it with better audio clips <3.

Cheers :sphere:

A SINGULAR mod!
BYE BYE DADA  [auteur] 17 mrt 2016 om 12:24
@Ghengis_John It depends how ridiculous you really want your game to be. Some Twitch.tv streams I watch have all 6 soldiers running it and there is more repetition, but they love it. I think for most people just one soldier on a mission is sufficient.
@goriel I added no effect. I only set the quality of the .wav conversion to be 16 bits 11.5 mhz. With the ethereal aspect going on, I thought adding a radio effect would sound too distorted. I'm still considering rebuilding the mod from scratch with the higher quality sound files.
Ghengis_John 15 mrt 2016 om 17:17
Now, do you give the narrator's voice to one of your guys and let him be "the odd one" or do you give it to all six for maximum lol factor?
Garr Incorporated 14 mrt 2016 om 9:10
My only question is the reason for what you added "radio" effect of lower quality sound?
BYE BYE DADA  [auteur] 13 mrt 2016 om 15:29
@jrikacz, How you described it should be sufficient. After subscribing and enabling in the launcher, to get the voice on your soldiers you have to go and select the voice for your soldiers in character customization. You will find the Darkest Dungeon voice somewhere near the bottom of the list of all the voices.
jrikacz 13 mrt 2016 om 14:25
sry for noob question, but how to make this work? is subscribing and checking it in launcher enough?
BYE BYE DADA  [auteur] 10 mrt 2016 om 14:08
@Puffafish, thank you.
@Buttplug, I am thinking now I may create two versions. I didn't plan ahead and did most of the spliced/remixed lines from the converted files instead of from the base files. So I will have to create those again before I can upload two versions of quality.
TraumaPack 10 mrt 2016 om 3:20
@big slosh Yeah, I agree. Without a filter it's like the solder is just a silent protagonist with a great big voice in the sky narrating what he does and whatever's happening to him. Pretty cool IMO.
Dr. Puffing Fish 9 mrt 2016 om 23:21
This is hands down the best voice pack. Don't even bother with the others, THIS is the mod you want.
BYE BYE DADA  [auteur] 9 mrt 2016 om 21:24
@Invisigoth, thank you.
@Big Slosh, I've added the quality question to the future update ideas list. Thank you.
Project Dandelous 9 mrt 2016 om 14:54
Yes! :DarkOphelia:
Destroyox 9 mrt 2016 om 13:57
Well considering he kinda has an ethereal presence a radio filter shouldn't be necessary.
BYE BYE DADA  [auteur] 9 mrt 2016 om 12:49
@ El, Tiberious, Stoner, thank you.
@ Big Slosh, yes they are low quality. I matched the sound format of the voices as the vanilla game. I thought it fit a little bit better but I'm open to suggestions.
El 9 mrt 2016 om 12:02
No offense to the maker of the other mod, but the lines were getting a bit repetitive and some of them felt a bit out of place.
