@david.svoboda:
If it doesn't ever make it in here have a look for "Cover Damage Reduction" here on the Workshop.

Any news on the DR upgrade?

It should, I don't think any of this area was touched in the update.

Looking forward to the DR update!

Sadly this mod doesn't seem to have a continuation, meaning the LW dmg reduction.
Glasswalker 21. mar. 2016 kl. 16:20
Been trying to make a more long war like experience, very pleased to find this mod that makes cover values more LW esq!
Prophetic ShadeZ 12. mar. 2016 kl. 17:18
have you thought of following the long war system? and low cover 25 and high cover 40?

I think if it's flat it then it's very important early game, and not that important late game, so I think I'm going with percentages. Maybe 10% 20% but not set.

These values will editable in the .INI, including different DR for grenades and a flat DR version option too.

Not sure if that reduction is pre or post armor reduction yet. Pre armor reduction make it more powerful since the percentage comes off the higher number. I think this might be too good but it's pretty easy to shred armor in this game so maybe not.

Much appreciated for the update.

How does the damage reduction work? Is it a flat amount based on the type of cover or is it a percentage or even something entirely differently?
JonathanFly  [ophavsmand] 7. mar. 2016 kl. 12:54
I have damage reduction working for regular shots and weapons that hit one target, but I'm trying to get it working for grenades too. But for grenades you have to a different map coordinate to determine if you have cover (the center of the grenade blast). I may release a shot-only DR version if I can't get it working, but I feel like I'm pretty close.

So? Are you still working on adding the damage reduction?
JonathanFly  [ophavsmand] 26. feb. 2016 kl. 12:03
I am planning on adding damage reduction to this mod, possibly over the weekend. Haven't settled on values yet, may be a percentage rather than a flat value so it scales into the endgame.

If you manage to get damage reduction / armor working for cover I would very much like to know how you did it.
Invizigoth 20. feb. 2016 kl. 8:26
Very Nice! Thank you! :bandit:

In the gamecore.ini that comes with the mod, what's the difefrence between the line that start with the "!" ?
[☎]Mr. Tabasco 17. feb. 2016 kl. 8:48
Great thing :) thanks
Swords 16. feb. 2016 kl. 8:38
Really want to give this a go, does it extend your firefights a bit?
LeftPaw 15. feb. 2016 kl. 21:49
After finding out that cover was a virtual a waste of time in the game this mod is very welcome. Thank you.
Cover should mean for something, but seems to be pretty worthless in the vanilla game..
PY5RA 8. feb. 2016 kl. 22:16
I have another yet similar idea. Not sure if you would want to make a different mod for it or not.

Bump up High Cover's Defense Bonus, but for Low Cover, it gives Aim Bonus instead.
JonathanFly  [ophavsmand] 8. feb. 2016 kl. 21:43
These are the same values as long war, except that Long War also gives cover damage reduction. If I can figure out how to do that, I will add it to this mod.
Dymacos 8. feb. 2016 kl. 21:39
Awesome we need this :D
Papagaio sem asa 8. feb. 2016 kl. 21:37
those are the same values as Long War, right?
Saroodai 8. feb. 2016 kl. 21:22
If 25/50 will be better or 30/50, this is my openion
Eirshy 8. feb. 2016 kl. 20:47
I personally put them at 25/50, and modded all other bonuses to play on that- Aid is low cover, single move vs reaction is low cover, double move vs reaction is high cover, Suppression is.... well, still high cover.

If anyone's curious, the files are DefaultGameCore for everything but Aid, which lives in DefaultGameData_SoldierSkills
