i can confirm this just doesn't work anymore even using aml (probably because of the update that removes the 2K launcher if i had to guess)

It still works for xcom 2 + spectrum yellow + other mods today. If it doesn't work maybe the new 2k launcher doesn't load the mod. I already experienced that the new 2k launcher doesn't load all mods that are assigned.

I don't think this mod works any more with WOTC. I have edited the ini and am using AML and loading a save from the strategic layer and missions still have default times.

For anyone having issues with mods, get the Alternative Mod Launcher (AML) for Xcom2/WOTC. It fixes mods not loading into the game.:steamthumbsup:

Thank you so much for this, just bought the game and I've been very frustrated with missions like rescue the vip where there are too many enemies to just ignore, but at the same time fighting them runs the timer down really fast and i had to reload multiple times just to barely complete them AND leave half my squad behind and the other half wounded. Didn't want to disable them and i hate reloading because it feels cheaty. Very much appreciated. At least in the first games it was doable haha

I haven't been modding (or even playing the game) for quite a while, so I can give just generic advice:
1. Make sure you're editing the proper file and you're doing it while the game is not running.
2. As far as I know, Firaxis changed something about loading mods in their latest patches, so the mod might not be working at all. In this case, try using alternative launchers.

Im Struggling to make this work, I want to Completely Disable the Timer (Or Make it so i dont have to worry about it) But its not working, Everytime I go into a New Mission it sets the Turns to 12 instead of Disabling it or Making the Value A Really large Number.

Thanks for making this. Really useful. Losing squad members because they are a turn short of getting to the "chopper" is really irritating. And then "+1 turn + 0-2 turns" option is perfect for me.

You can add/subtract a number of turns to vanilla values, but the numbers you add/subtract are fixed and don't depend on difficulty.

I love this mod. I was doing a quest, 7 turns on the timer. An Avatar showed up and a Chosen and it was just too hard. Thank you.

Not sure the mod is compatible with LW as it has timer changes of its own (as far as I remember).

Are you using WotC? I don't think this mod will work with the new mission types added by WotC (Neutralise Field Commander, Destroy Transmitter and the others I've missed).

If you are using WotC then Shaska's "Timer Tweaks for WotC" maybe what you need.

As for XcomMissions.ini, mine is 400+ lines long, and "timer" does not appear even once in it! Mine is a standard Steam installation. What's going on?

The MOD is in my [Path To Steam Library]\steamapps\workshop\content\268500\618055274\Config) allright, and the only line uncommented (besides header) is +timerOverrideRules=(behavior=eTimerRuleBehavior_ADD, value=4), but it does nothing on new missions. Do I have to do anything special to activate it?

I don't know, I haven't played the DLC yet. And, TBH, I haven't played the game for a very long time.

Make sure you use geoscape and not battlescape save to test the mod (important! otherwise it won't work). Start a game on easy and test it with early game missions.

does this work with war of the chosen? as it seems to me it isn't, litteraly got 4 (Default) turns in this mission im playing, and i quite hate the "you got a few turns if you dont like it fuck you" type of thing xD

No, you can add, but not multiply. Adding 4 turns to every timer works good enough.

No, the mod doesn't work with LW2, but LW2 has its own way for configuring mission timers, afaik. Try searching the comments or asking in LW2 forums.

You should comment +timerOverrideRules=(behavior=eTimerRuleBehavior_ADD, value=4) so it looks like this:
;+timerOverrideRules=(behavior=eTimerRuleBehavior_ADD, value=4)
And then you should uncomment ;+timerOverrideRules=(behavior=eTimerRuleBehavior_SET, value=99) so it looks like this:
+timerOverrideRules=(behavior=eTimerRuleBehavior_SET, value=99)
Note that override won't happen for already active tactical missions, you need to load strategic game save and start a new tactical mission.

I am new to the modding community. So I am not sure which file I should be editing. Am I suppose to uncomment the " ; " in the XComTacticalMissionTimers.ini ? I am trying to do it on a gorilla warfare missions

I am trying to activate the 99 turn code so for that section i have it saved like this
+timerOverrideRules=(behavior=eTimerRuleBehavior_SET, value=99)

with all the other examples and codes still commented out.

I am running the base game with the DLCs except WotC

WotC doesn't need this mod - you can now configure all timers by mission type via DefaultMissions.ini.

Does this work in tandem with True Concealment? I got like a million extra enemy types and to be honest rookie difficulty is unrealistic, and veteran doesn't give me enough time to plan.
