@mono olho. Hi, I think you can work around the excess amount of heroes problem by making them really expensive. I edited the heroes making them very expensive so that it is very rare to see them.

hey did you find a reason for the multi number of heros not carrying a weapon as i had fixed that in my modded version but now as of today its back and i have no idea what changed as i dont recall a patch for ages that altered the units to any extent to cause this sort of glitch

AI actually don't recruit them that often. You might only see 2 or 3 at the most per army. Unlike me, killing the game with only hero units.

After a mild hiatus of half a dozen years, I have come back. Will try to cap the units, especially for the AI, I was sure I did that before, might have been only Attila heroes. Sorry about that.
Any bugs you got, might as well let me know now.

Looking into right now:
-Unit Cap to avoid excessive AI (I don't care if it's OP for the player, practice self-restraing, you muddied rice farmers!);
-Generals not having abilities;
-Some possible fix to the lack of sounds when heroes fight (the major reason I've abandoned the game >6 years ago).

how did u manage to get general be by himself? I tried tweeking the files setting general bodyguard to 1 but in-game it would still be 40...

OmIzU It is a well known bug in shogun 2, somehow, when adding units to the game, the sounds get awkward, like archers firing musket sounds. It is one of the reasons I stopped modding the game.

lol it still works i know as i still use it and it works fine i just had to open it in the pack manager then repack it and it worked fine i cant repost it as i have no idea what i renamed the mod to on my pc plus i dont want to take over the mod in full as i hate the pack manager program and i mean i really HATE IT !!!!!!!! The mod is heavily out of date, I haven't messed around with shogun in over a year, maybe more. There is no ETA on when I may be able to even look into the bugs right now. I'm being honest: I can't fix it now, however I can always provide support for someone wanting to try and fix it by themselves, and even a co-creator title if someone is able to fix and update stuff.

Bro, your thing was so bugged, and idk wut caused it, and I hope I get an answer soon, but now, after donwloading your mod for Shogun total war 2, my games run 20x slower. It used to run at 40 fps, but now they run at like 10. Help me out on this bro, because now I can't play any games. My video card and everything is all good, and I checked viruses and such, and ther was nothing wrong. Help me out man, or anyone, plz

and also monoolho that numbers bug the ai sometimes get is not a bug caused by you as it also happens to the edited version i made for my use in that one a few factions have units of like 100 heros when the mod is hardcoded to 10 which i cant find the cause of in yours or mine its like something is overwriting the unit numbers smoetimes and other time not but it was a really bad day for me when i got owned by 2 lots of 100 katana heros against my 3 units of 10 i was like well is is going to be bad and it was but like i said its not on your end

and the attrition thing can be fixed with a mod that removes it but this can cause major issues later on when you are facing huge stacks of enemies as it also affects the ai and i spent half my last game running around the map during my last game trying to avoid the huge stacks of elites they were fielding and god it was hard in the end it was me against like 6 factions that had allied to take me on and lets say i may of lost the final fight but it was epic i took down all but 3 of their units their elite archers and a unit of cav attacking my flank finally did me in

the audio bug is common in this game after every little change made to the game for example you run unmodded game exit then add one mod reluanch some audio will bug out after adding any mod run the sound fix mod that will fix the issue as will running it before every launch just be aware this 2nd approch can break the campaign as for not moving they sometimes bug out when not in armies just make sure they are led by a proper general and they will work fine

so ive noticed that the heroes still die from attrition like sieges and winter. is there anyway to disable attrition because i just laid siege to a group with 4 generals and 2 heroes for a turn, and when my turn rolled around all but one was gone.

hey man I love your mod and I wanted to ask how you got these units not to disband after battle? I once tried making a mod like this my self but the units kept disbanding due to not having enough men every time a battle ended.

Hey, I just wanted to say this is an awesome addition to the game! I was however wondering, as useless as it may sound- if you could implement a ranged singular unit? Perhaps one with a bow and arrow for the base game (Sengoku) and perhaps a gunslinger or some sort for FoTS?

I left it somewhat cheap because the AI spams them sometimes, so it's somewhat fair. Maybe not, I really didn't care that much about money because after a while you're swimming in mons... But I'll take a look into it. I may make some changes to the armor as well.

Well. It wasn't supposed to do that, I'm fairly certain. I'm not sure if I left any prototype multi-soldier units laying in the pack file and maybe somehow the AI spawned it. Or mayhaps you could take a look at the general's stats and see if there is any sort of buff for its unit. It's either some "bug" i caused, or it's some conflict between the mod and the generals' abilities. It never happened to me as far as I remember. Was it a high-level general or some placeholder conscript? It really does sound like one of those retainer/bonus/whatever that grants the general more units...
Still, the solution for that is to nerf the units, which I may do as soon as I get free time from college

It's impractical for me to do it. The game doesn't differentiate Player > AI, it only cares about factions. So you can do it yourself, download Pack File Manager, open the mod and go into unit permissions and unit faction permissions and delete all entries that are for the AIs factions, and leave your faction of choice there. functional, just something caught me by surprise.

at one point, AI had a hero general with 13 units.

since even 1 was quite a lot to handle, that proved to be quite problematic in direct confrontation.

About the invincibility: they were somewhat meant to be like that. But I could nerf them somewhat.
About the compatibility: absolutely. It should be compatible with any and all DLCs, I believe I've even made it possible for all factions to recruit them.
About the Bow hero: it was a test trial. It did not work, so he carries his decorative bow and kills people with the honorable sword.

About it replacing golden heroes: What the hell? How did it replace, do you have more info on that? I have no idea about that, it may have something to do with the unit ID (which is in either main_units or land_units tables), possibly editing those IDs with PFM and using higher numbers. If you're still interested, send me a message and we may talk about it (while I'm still modding TW, which may end anytime with no previous warnings). And sorry about such late response.

i feel like the generals are a bit too over powered because i was able to take out a fully stacked army with just 4 generals. also i found that during sieges, the defending heros seem to die from attrition, is there a fix or am i doing something wrong?? please help, Thank You

Was the one bow hero, U. Kaito i think, supposed to be able to fire his bow? He has the bow and stats but he only uses his katana. :(

Great idea, just a bit op. bit hard to kill unless you focus fire on them. they should be strong but not so op so you have to use them smart/strategic. awesome concept tho, added some much needed variety :)
