im pretty sure they still use some of these on the providence/boston line, idk tho, im no amtrak expert

I skipped the size thing as reducing the textures resolution just don't look really good - I tried this with the Acela.

So I've to find some other way around or have to release a "light" version at some point which has kinda lowres textures.

Anyway I hope that I can work on assets in near future again (I got still only limited time - but as there are many new possiblilities like vehicle effects I have to take a look again ;) )

Any progress in reducing file size? Very nice train but way too large a file to load compared to equivalents.

Ah, makes sense. Thanks for being forthright and I'll keep this as a favorite and wait for an update. Too many assets on my machine already, have to dole out the MB's to my RAM wisely. :) Thanks for the response Delta!

yes, those are 2k textures actually. I'll try to reduce the size on the coaches as half of the texture is unused, but this means some uv remapping so atm it stays as it is ;)

I think this train is really good, what are the tri counts for the trailer model and lod? I see the engines tris in meshinfo but cant find the trailer info.

You also have to thank the guys who created those models for train fever :) I just made the lod model, reduced the triangle load, touched them up here and there and created the textures for reflections and lights.
