During the 1970s when the building was built, the windows kept popping out and falling to the sidewalk below. It took some years and retrofitting to make the building safe not only for the tenants above, but the pedestrians and cars down below on Claredon Street.
The building was built as a competing tower against the Prudential Center and tower located a block away on Bolyston and Huntington Street, which was built by the competing Prudential Insurance Company. My dad worked in one of the offices in this one and it was great way to see a city below. I used to spend my whole day up there as a kid when I would go into work with him during my school vacations.
