When I used hammer it was extremely finicky and hard to use Since then I've switched to hammer++ it works much better And if you haven't tried you should.the Next time You make a map Try and keep The games required to play to a minimum Half-Life 2 Half-Life 2 ep1 Half-Life 2 ep2 You can also use custom Textures and pack them into the map That'll help quite a bit Your new series of maps probably won't be released anytime soon Hammer takes quite a bit of time to make maps on so take your time.good luck

Hey Skefil! Appreciate the comment! Sorry to hear about the CTD on playing. I have an updated version of this set of maps in the works with a few bug fixes! So keep an eye out for that if you want to play this the way it was originally intended.

This map is quite old now and when I made it, I was very inexperienced in Source, its just a poorly made map. Sorry for the inconvience.

Have all required assets mounted, and this one crashes Gmod every time. OB2 works just fine, so no idea what went so wrong here

Alright mate, Have you tried reinstalling the map by deleting the file from your addons folder in the Garrys Mod Directory OR unsubscribing and resubscribing?

@Darkbetray, there is no console error, and i have tried doing it in a vanilla game before, it still hasnt worked :/

Hey mate, what is the problem? If the map doesnt launch with no error message it might be an addon conflict, try playing the map through on a vanilla game.

Could you please supply an error message or more information?

I am happy to announce that work on 'Our Benefactors' has begun again. The series is never going to be abandoned entirely, there may be hiccups but the show will always go on. Keep your eyes open, the following episode is to be released in the sort-of near future.

i disabled EVERY thing other than map... I think it might be an engine error or maybe a computer bug... or it may refuse to load if i dont have css?

Look, don't go to lots of trouble just to play this one map, but I would recommend trying the map on a vanilla game, just to be sure its not an engine error.

It crashes when it loads help! I disabled my combine retextures, do i need to disable any sound replacments as well?

It is sometimes possible. Any conflicting addons that conflict with combine models/sounds/other things may cause crashing. You should also make sure that your addons arent creating lots of script errors.

I know the desc says that i need Css obviously, but if i dont use it, will the untextured parts of the maps be unnoticable? or will it just have a few little errors in the distance like gas canisters and trees... i yet have to buy css so im just wondering

Hello King of Pigs, this my be causes by a few things.

1. Too many addons, reduce the bloat of your games script errors.
2. A slow pc can cause bas fps as this map has a large rendering distance
3. Your graphics settings are too high, try turning them down.


If the problem persists add CrownTiger or myself and we will help you further.
