In that specific instance, the developers overrode textures that existed elsewhere. This does not, This map has been out since 2016. Most mods these days are made *after* this one was.

there's been a city map that's files broke some things, one map I had made all my grey metal door textures default to the female developer door texture a while ago

Is there any way you could have just bound the ad to the map though? Because it happens when you launch a map that has nothing to do with your map. It doesn't make sense for it to be advertised when they're not even using your map.
