exactly what I try to find, I use the keyword "booster station" and lead me to here

I love the concept behind your off shore sub stations, but I seem to be having a slight issue getting them to work, I am placing them withing the power radius of Dams and wave stations and only some of them are listed as working, while most are listed as inactive. I am trying to bring power up a river, however eventhrough I am placing them within the power radius of the previous sub station only a few are actually registered as working but the blue auroa continues to expand with each one that I place. Is there a trick to placing them where they show as active ?
