I am quite new to SFM, this is my first time dealing with VMT files.
The only thing on the file is the two lines you posted here:
"$selfillum" "1"
"$selfillumtint" "[10 100 255]"

And in SFM, Adding Override Materials:
name: bone
mtlName: models/undertale/bone_l.vmt

I just tried that, but it doesnt work.
I did click the Override Materials option, and put the path to the mtlName, but nothing happened.
I also tried both with and without the quotes.
I changed the values to float for my last attempt, didn't work.
