I remember that you asked me about my armor last year and I kind of forgot about it, and I said that I was making Brigandine armor, but that has all changed. I have decided to go with very late 13th century armor. I have a picture of it right here XD but keep in mind that the guys beside me in the armor are close buddies of mine. Their armor is still in the works, as you can see on the guy in the Bascinet's fabolous tennis Shoes and yellow gloves. The guy in the Bascinet is working on late 14th century, and the guy without his helmet is working on mid 14th century. their armor will look VASTLY different in a few years :).

To be more clear about when I said Jousting, and Tournaments - Jousting takes place within tournaments, as well as the Tourney which is fought on foot where this helm would be used. For a joust in particular, you would wear a Frog Helmet which was riveted/bolted to your breast plate and had no breathing holes *simply called breaths* because your neck could get snapped from the lance getting stuck. The tournaments were also where armor was much thicker beacuse you are fighting for a shorter period of time and you wait between matches where you can take your armor off *similar to Armored Combat League* - this was not meant to offend anyone in any way.

@Kyrk you got pic of that armor you are making?? would really like to see.

I am in progress of getting Brigandine Armor with some Plate *Pauldrons, that sort of thing* *Brigandine was used in the 1370s all the through the 1400s but went into decline just before the 1500s. It was a Large Jacket that had strong Steel Plates Riveted into it, and was easy on the wallet, and is often used in SCA combat, and Armored Combat League*
I get my padded armor and stuff from "Kult of Athena" as well as my Helmets.
If you want more imformation, just Friend me or something like that, and I can tell you more.

@Zarg30 Are you following any plans or schematics for the armour? if so, any chance you could send them to me - I sold my armour a while back but kinda regret it now and want to make some more.

I really like this helmet. It does not seem to be a jousting Helmet though...it looks more like a Bascinet used in tournaments during the second half of the 1400s, because in jousts, you did not want a lance to get caught inside one of the holes in your helm, because if is did, it would throw you off your horse. Great Work either way, you by far are just about the best guy for making skins Actually, I am working on a set of armor at my home, and it only has breathing holes on the right side, this is because the Knights were trained right handed, and it was not any different for the lance during the joust, and the helmets were usually "Stream Lined" if you want to call it that. P.S. The set of Armor is coming along quite well. feel free to ask what kind of armor it is .

@Oilystool This is the first item in the workshop I had no doubt of wanting it! I really hope to see it in game. (It is quite realistic as well, a lookalike of this did actually exist)

Yes, I am aware of those medieval helmets and I figured they were likely the inspiration for your skin, but I just thought it looked like a halo helmet. It wasn't an insult. In fact, it might be my favorite helmet skin so far.

For some reason "NOT THE BEES" comes to mind when looking at this. Unsure why that is but good looking helm, personally I would wear the open version for the silliness

Very nice helm! Pretty sure this is a fencing bascinet, used from late 14th to early 16th century (so maybe a little out of period for chivalry, but eh looks great so I aint complaining.) Used this style of helmet when I did HMB, so it's nice to see it in chivalry. Keep up the good work :)

@Raska Thank you and good idea. Its a slight flaw that came about when I rotating the visor for the same time,so i have to move the pivot slightly to make it work. Not a deal breaker but i should have planned it better. Most players dont use the open version of helmets but I always add them as an after thought. Should keep the opening movement in mind next helmet I make.
