I'm going to 2nd the weakness of the small ship large thruster. It is suprisingly weak compared to the vanilla one. It has about 1/3 the thrust. Otherwise they look amazing.

Sektan, the power on your atmospheric thrusters is fine, but would it be possible to not have them lose power so damn quickly with altitude? These things are basically useless for lifting something even part way into orbit, because they lose most of their power above, like, a couple thousand meters. I can't even fly over most mountains with these things. It seems to me their power loss with altitude should literally be something like a tenth of the rate that it is.

OK. I must correct this. The big engines of the small ship are very weak. 144Kn in compare to the small ones of the small ship 120kn and the big one of the small ship (vanilla) 340Kn.

So I find this design really first-class also from the one version. Only unfortunately, the engines are a little weak (more weakly than the Vanilla) lasts nicely if a little bit more thump would agree.

I have a question/request regarding the atmospheric engines output. Would it be possible to maybe see a 2nd stronger set (for small grid at least) that has double the thrust output for the small thruster? I really would like to get an AV-14 Hornet VTOL craft to actually fly using just 2 thrusters in the wings but the stock atmospheric engines right now are rather light. The ones in this set almost do it, but local testing showed max values of 240kN would get it taking off and climbing altitude effectively.

If you were interested in doing that it would be a great addition, especially for VTOL craft that don't always have room in the design profiles for large thrusters, let alone 3 or 4 of them like Keen seemed to use on just about all of their's showcased in that stream. Might even make more twin turbine VTOL craft a possibility in the game :)

I'm working on two sets of thrusters with Nvidia design as thanks.

Then I'll do a few new sets of atmospheric and hydrogen thrusters.

Then I will do updating all my thrusters.

@SpaceKraken: As mentioned, there's a sourcecode-version of planets. However, they're not the final product, so it's not guaranteed that those thrusters work in that atmosphere. However, you're already able to design a few vessels with this mod, so once planets are released, you can already have fun with it.

hmmm.... I'm looking at adapting my only Capital Ship in my workshop to have Atmo Thrusters. they'll be facing down to make it like an "airship" and i want Hydrogen for leaving atmo.

@Nyx Mulder That's the thing. I know there's a sourcecode-release for planets, but I'm not sure whether they consider an atmosphere like the final product will. But until planets arrive, this is a neat way to design a few ships fitted for a planet's atmosphere!
