The idea with the merge block is great! But as u mentioned it now, i cant just import it to this ship :D

how is the drag (inertia spin) from the containers on those landing gear? have you tried it out with them fully loaded?
in my design i used merge blocks to link a cargo container piece in to the same grid to try to avoid that (though it didn't have the workign vtol thrusters.
But there is a hint for u on big ships> U know that u can force activate thrusters... if u want to rotate really heavy parts u can force thrusters to max output, so they support the rotation and by the end of the rotation disable them
