I openned a descusion about this problem on the forum. "Need a Ship Designer in the Main Menu", if you want to vent your frustration (in a positive way). Let the Devs know

Check to make sure you have downloaded it. If you have, then you probably downloaded it after you started that game. Sadly you may need to start a new game once you download things. They need to make a Dhip Designer from the main menu, not in game would fix these issues. There was plans for it, just hope they haven't forgotten.

If your a founder you should have all parts. There are also exported parts or "Saved grouped parts as" that we tend to make to fit. Guns, wings, cockpits etc Also, go into main options and make sure "show all ships" is checked in the Game options. Then in the Designer option, make sure to check "Show all parts from other races"

too bad the battle calculator is bugged beyond repair. every time i use this ship, it fights through half of the battle with 0 hp, and at the end, even when declared the victor, i lose my fleet.

Try to make its silhouette starting with a base part (I like to start with a middle section for balance). The silhouette can be ruff, it will be the frame work of the ship itself. Dont be afraid to angle parts. If every thing is going to plan, save it and use that design (no un-do options) . Once you have a basic frame work of it, imagine it in sections (back, sides, segment plating, legs, wings, weapons, head, legs etc )and build them in detail. Use a main part that all other parts connect to that starting section part, so if you off set that part, all other parts you placed for that section move with it. Each section part should connect to the main starting part you used as a base part (not the starting square). Keep building and you start to pick up easier ways of making something and better techniques. Hope this helps :) PS: if it all comes together the way you intended (its rare) then a happy dance is a must!

Thanks. Cylons are still not to high on the priority list as they really dont have many core ships. Nearly all ships would have to be concepts. I have a few ideas I can try out but still need time play around with those ideas.

Another wonderful ship Omni. Please, do more Cylons that I can add to my Cylon list. I need some different typs. Maybe some sort of variant of the really nice ressurection ship that I already have from another creator.
