Jailbird19: It should work with latest version of CK2. If you don't use any other map-modifying mods, then it will not work, as they'll clash.

ross.samuel.melton: I think so, but haven't tried it on a recent patch.

Disabling it mid-campaign could mess up merchant republics (giving them disconnected trade posts) but I don't know how serious this would be. Enabling it mid-campaign should work fine.

GabeC1997: It's not really possible, map can't be changed mid-game.

(OK technically there's a hacky way to blockade a passage by fort level, but in this case it would disconnect two oceans, so it would cause a lot of issues)

Lord_Daemonar : They should be. De jure map and holy sites don't need to modify map/*.
They'll modify common/landed_titles/* and maybe history/* or common/religions/*.

taw: Nah that's fair enough mate. It's a really effective mod though. Makes playing as either side of the canal much more interesting. Thanks for going to the effort of making it!

Spartan_David_-_147: CK2 engine doesn't allow changing the map. There's a feature for blocking rivers by fort level I guess if someone really wanted to script things hard, but definitely not worth it.
