@condottiere does automatic objectViewDistance depending on zoom works with ace? It is unavailable in ace-options for me.
Martian Patriot 12. okt. 2017 kl. 15:14
This does not work for me.
condottiere 9. maj 2017 kl. 5:53
Even though I regularly use ACE, I really appreciate that you made this mod years ago before ACE was even a thing for Arma 3. I first DLed it off Armaholic and permanently kept it in my modlist. Thank you, Arkhir!
Arkhir  [ophavsmand] 24. apr. 2017 kl. 17:07
It should.

BIS has introduced similar optimizations to the native game engine though.
󠀡󠀡 24. apr. 2017 kl. 16:04
Does this still work
󠀡󠀡 11. apr. 2017 kl. 18:04
Really hope that you continue this mod. I don't think that this kind of functionality should require downloading a huge realism overhaul with 5 different kinds of bandages among other things that makes it to where you have to go through a virtual training course to understand it all.

I'm hoping someone can help. I really like this mod but it keeps resetting my obj distance up around 100+ everytime i start a game. How can i stop this and/or hardcode it to work at a certain object detail value. thanks.

e.g obj distance 1000
start game=1100
game 2 or restart game = 1200
game 3 = 1300

Thanks for this, it's awesome. Also please keep this up to date separate from ACE, as sometimes we need to play witthout ACE and this is EPIC! Thanks!

This proof-of-concept will still be available but I wasn't planning to update it and nothing has changed since.

It is now available via ACE3. ACE3 users are encouraged to remove this addon and use ACE3 function instead.
Arkhir  [ophavsmand] 10. nov. 2015 kl. 14:28
Works for me.
delta 10. nov. 2015 kl. 12:39
Does this still work? I'm not experiencing a difference.
Arkhir  [ophavsmand] 12. okt. 2015 kl. 8:32
Yup, nothing runs on server.
Chief 12. okt. 2015 kl. 8:29
Is it pure clientside? Just wondering.
Vidar_Odinson 8. okt. 2015 kl. 12:22
Would be awesome if you would... I'm curious whats happening with ACE fast ropes at this point... say it posted months ago saying they needed to polish it and now nothing... litterally the one thing holding us back from transitioning to ACE.
Arkhir  [ophavsmand] 8. okt. 2015 kl. 4:30
Not likely, but I might pop an update sometime.
Vidar_Odinson 7. okt. 2015 kl. 20:54
Are you going to continue updating this independent of ACE in the mean time? My group is still using AGM atm as ACE still is missing some AGM features... such as fast ropes.
Brother Jayce 4. sep. 2015 kl. 20:34
Odd... I do have CBA installed, and when I run this, I don't notice anything different, other than the fact that the terrain textures look like baby puke, even when I'm on the ground, though everything else seems to load in. I'm sure its not the mods fault though.
Arkhir  [ophavsmand] 14. aug. 2015 kl. 8:44
Cheers :steamhappy:
Dracus 14. aug. 2015 kl. 8:15
Perfect Arkhir, thank you. Fixed what I was upset about.
Arkhir  [ophavsmand] 14. aug. 2015 kl. 7:37
What are your specs and settings? You might have your basic ovd set too high.
Heavy Metal Nuts 14. aug. 2015 kl. 7:02
causes me to have massive frame drops when using this..Hopeful in the future it may work better for me
Arkhir  [ophavsmand] 14. aug. 2015 kl. 5:07
wot?

You can set default oVD and regular vD in your main menu, you just can't change it while being in game, while controlling your character.

It's not set at any "predefined" or "default" level, it takes whatever your seting is at and works with it.
Release with ACE3 should fix these issues, as it is going to be using ACE3 variables. I would've had to make similar menu for these settings if I wanted to fix the known issues, and then you would adjust your viewdistances in this menu.
Dracus 13. aug. 2015 kl. 21:55
I know it's a known issue, but I would love the ability to set a default oVB, because the base eyes have like a 300 meter draw distance, and there is hardly ever anything closer than that. Great idea, and thumbs up for the work you put into it, just wish I could see more without having to hold right mouse button. :D
Arkhir  [ophavsmand] 12. aug. 2015 kl. 17:19
This mod will be a part of ACE3 now.
Arkhir  [ophavsmand] 12. aug. 2015 kl. 13:34
Probably.
Dar 12. aug. 2015 kl. 10:00
This is a great idea. Could it be ported to Arma 2 OA?
Dport 12. aug. 2015 kl. 2:34
I disagree - Arma eyeballs are like alpha test eyeballs, this is closer to Mk1.
Arkhir  [ophavsmand] 11. aug. 2015 kl. 21:36
perhaps

good note :D
clonepa 11. aug. 2015 kl. 18:41
Shouldn't these eyeballs be called the Mk 2 Eyeballs with the stock Arma eyeballs being Mk 1?
Quoom 11. aug. 2015 kl. 7:03
absolutly awesome !
great work
Arkhir  [ophavsmand] 10. aug. 2015 kl. 19:31
Sure, see if you can reduce your viewdistances until it's playable, the mod should give you some extra view distance whenever you need it without making you suffer from the loss all the time.
ReZiiN 10. aug. 2015 kl. 18:11
Right on Arkhir, this is really quite cool and usefull. I suffer low frames from high view distance (I need good graphics) this might help me out.
Arkhir  [ophavsmand] 10. aug. 2015 kl. 12:12
if the server allows it
TurboThorsten2000 10. aug. 2015 kl. 12:07
can i use it in breakin point?
Addramyr 10. aug. 2015 kl. 9:12
Wow, I can't believe this wasn't part of vanilla!
sciom1001 10. aug. 2015 kl. 7:21
i was thinking dynamic veiw distance changes with elavation would be useful, since its less performance intensive to have a higher veiw distance high in the air but you have to manualy adjust it every time. it would have to be based on elavation from sea level of course
Wolf 7. aug. 2015 kl. 6:01
You, my good sir, are a genius. Keep up the good work.
delta 6. aug. 2015 kl. 14:30
Will definitely share this with my unit. Good work, look forward to future mods from you.
Arkhir  [ophavsmand] 6. aug. 2015 kl. 13:23
