I built a full frontal "plow" like blade of interlocked spikes. Soon as it hits a good speed, the ship can literally sail straight through the largest asteroids in the game without losing speed. Enemy ships are tougher, and larger ones can sometimes stop it or damage the blade before it hits, but on a well angled ram it could slice clean through even the biggest ships around. Most smaller ships that get in the way are instantly vaporised. Sooner or later (sooner normally) the blade gets dinked or blown off and will fail to cut.
