The colors seem to depend on the base asset you used when you imported your building. It's easy to find a base asset that grows in 4 colors for level 1, I found one that grows two colors for level 4, but I never found one that grew more than one color for level 5. Do you remember what the base asset you used for the r005 was ?

I made new city to test color .. so far the tower R005 spawn in black and white, Yhe R007 only black but this building also dont appear often .. So maybe it's the spaw probabability that come from the template used.... So I think i'll need to lean to use mod tool and take a look at hiden option. It look like some lvl 5 template have zero chance to get an other color and other template have some chance . So it's a bug or a hiden option anywhay there are something wrong with color and lvl 5 building.

Maybe you had one grow before making a modification to the asset ?? (yes, because sometimes the color that grows changes when you modify the asset, or when there is a game update...).

I've found more than one color finally in the city .. So I still wonder why most of the building are the same color.

I was wondering why there was one color that spawned more than the other. It's because there are no other color. So it kinda work it's the color #4 I think.

Oh, that explains a good deal about why my residential areas are getting too similar buildings. Hope thats fixed soon.

Sorry to say it to you but the color variations don't work ingame for any level 5 residential building. Test it and you'll see. :/
It's a known problem I've noticed and reported to colossal order since release but they haven't fixed yet.
