EDIT: Yes! The vortigaunt at the ending sequence does put the gnome on his head in the form of a retextured version of the original hat. (The regular hat but with the gnome skin)

Does this mean that the vortigaunt at the ending sequence will put the gnome on his head instead of the hat?

a companion cube for the hat would be pretty neato

I know, i was wondering because even on easy there were some parts of the game where I had to use god because of how hard it was. Mostly the parts with military fights

could you just use sv_cheats 1 and god for it and right as your about to jump in the portal turn sv_cheats to 0, save, and load the game? Would that work?

It doesn't disappear during loading screens. Just pick it up, carry it through all the levels and throw it into the portal to Xen when you reached the current end of the game. Easy. Have fun!

@xSonicPlayMCx Ok, here is how you get it: During the "Unforeseen Consequences" chaper head out through the big door through which you entered the facility (big airlock door). Turn to your right, jump on the railing and turn your flashlight on. You should see some big pipes, jump onto them. Look around with your flashlight, you should see the hat/gnome in the corner. It might be a good idea to make a savegame, the jumps can be tricky.

ok Pascal which door? the tram door or the big door which is the entrance to the airlock through a same door then into the facility??? and is it in Unforseen Consequences and how do i carry it throughout THE ENTIRE GAME???

@Callity It's not in the container in the steam version. You can find the hat on the left of the big door by the train where you entered the facility (to the left when facing the door). The hat does only appear after you've triggered the resonance cascade.

Where is the hat? It's not in the yellow container anymore...

@Tricky There is a special little clip where a vortigaunt puts on the purple hat. It only plays after the credits if you have completed the "Rare Specimen" achievement. The hat is removed with this mod so the what will happen? It's a big mystery!

@thebutterfingerbatman You find him during unforseen consiquences at the part where the security guard falls to his death, to the right of the door (walking out of it) there are some pipes. Jump on them and hell be there in a little alcove.

The gnome can be send to Xen without any problem and you'll get the regular achievement for it. I can't spoil what happens in the vortigaunt outro ;)
