it doesnt work. some of the options work, and some dont show up.

Assuming nothing is seriously wrong with your SFM, maps will not affect particles. Most likely you did not add the correct particle system, or you forgot to move the playhead off of the current shot.

I was using a Workshop map for it though, might not like the pdf file. dunno

I can't really do anything about that. The particles are visible for everyone else. Try restarting SFM or your computer.
