I think you should leave it up. You can say something like it's outdated, because deleted assets can be a nuciance sometimes since I don't really want to delete it myself. You could even just remove it from the theme completely.

I'll consider it. I think that my other assets that I suggested may be better in the long run.
Why not just leave it up? I'm sure if people have a problem with it for whatever reason, they can just unsubscribe.

NOTE: This asset will be deleted soon as I'm concentrating on my other assets.

Will this one be updated for AD?

Worth noting as well that the house should probably be scaled down by about a third or so.
Kookas 2015
I'm not sure. You could try posting on the forums and seeing if anyone else is having the same issue or if someone at Paradox can recreate the issue - maybe it's a bug, because I can easily see "assets made on Mac are a bit big" as being overlooked by many.

At the very least, someone at Paradox should be able to look into your CRP files and see what's taking up so much space.

Could this be related to the OS Cities id running on? I'm using Mac OS 10.10.3.
I have uninstalled and reinstalled Cities and nothing has changed.

I got a 4.3 MB file when I opened this particular house and re-saved it, a third of the normal size. Hmm.
Kookas 2015
It's strange. You're putting the same FBX and texture file into the same folder, then loading up the game, importing it as an asset, and yet the CRP file is not the same somehow. I wonder what happens if I load one of your houses and then resave it.

I have unsubscribed from everything and even deleted any mod files left behind and yet the cubetest crp file is stil 4.2Mb.
Kookas 2015
If I remember correctly, some mods can include parts of themselves with assets (usually unintentional on part of the mod creator). Like I think I remember Traffic++'s modified AI behaviours were being included with vehicles that were made in games with that mod active.

Try disabling all your mods, and then making an asset. Might not work, but I'm thinking maybe some mod is causing the game to package a huge amount of unwanted code or data with the asset.
Kookas 2015
This is even stranger - when I used your cubetest files to produce an asset, I got a 708 KB CRP file.

I use Blender regularly so I'll have a quick look
I'm using 3ds max and as a guide, my UK Terraced House - Modern 5 is 1,311 tris, the fbx is 57kb and the file on the workshop is 2.666mb. It looks like its the export settings in blender that's causing the problem (a cube with 12 tris shouldn't be 4.2mb). I've never used blender but i recommend posting on the official forums for some assistance.

If you can find a way to send me the files for the textured cube, I'll have a look and see how it's different.
The file size is 20Kb. What am I doing wrong?
What happens when you don't apply a texture to it?
I've done a test using a native Blender cube containing 12 tris. The fbx file is 15Kb and the texture is 180Kb yet the resulting crp file is 4.2Mb. This makes no sense. If anyone has an explanation please let me know.
@rik4000 and @Kookas There are 1170 tri's in this model. The fbx file is 52Kb. I'm creating the initial model in Sketup, import it into Blender to apply the textures and photoshop to create the texture file. I UV unwrap the model, apply the texture and export to fbx.
@Macwelshman Whats the poly and tri count on the model?
Kookas 2015
Hmm, difficult - even for my last house, just the diffuse texture is about 700 KB, and overall the mod files come to about 800 KB, yet it still only makes a 2.7 MB asset. What size is the FBX file? For both of my mods, the FBX is about 40 KB.

I'm just wondering if maybe the modelling program you're using has exported some extra unwanted data or something along with the model which is making the game do something weird.
The largest size of either the fbx file, or the textures (d, n, s, c) is 120Kb.
Kookas 2015
Which of the mod files is the bulk of the size? The model or one of the textures?
I'm having a great deal of trouble reducing the file sizes. The poly count is as low as I can get it and the texture size is 1024x1024. No matter what I do, the file size stays at about 12Mb. If anyone has some advice I would really appreciate it.

justlike my house :D :D
Very nice. Unfortunately the file size is very large for a 2x3 growable. Any chance of lowering it?
YESSS!

That's beautiful, thanks!
