I haven't seen them in game yet, but if they aren't up to date, then I suggest the author updates them. Otherwise its a real shame because the designs are awesome, just not visible at night.
Just my two cents. ;)
Speak for yourself.
I like the buildings the way they are.
So here is my advice for you:
1.Try to upload some dark color variants for at least some of your buildings. Try metal grey, black or very dark blue but dark green and red are also a must as they fit in with the maps
2. Try to simplify the geometry. Keep in mind that many people don't have alienware pc's and the complex geometry [and the files size] becomes an issue once you have a big city for >90% of the players
Decrease the number of windows and either put large metal or concrete bits in between them or unify the windows. And decrease the overall geometry
3. Just like with the colors you can do 2 variants for each building: 1 with very large file sizes for the few people that have top PC's and 1 small file size for the rest
Mark them as LITE version and put on the thumbnail photo the file size.
Finally try to eliminate sharp edges in all your buildings. It's a real problem and medium and long ranges for most users
Cheers
Hi,
Here is my feedback:
With some of your buildings there is a quite serious visual problem at medium and long range which is caused by the too visible difference between the many windows and the walls [you can compare it to the problem people with tiny striped shirts have when going on tv].
This is especially true with the sharp edge ones. (for ex your narrow spiral tower has no such problems and looks very good and close medium and long range)
The colour problem: white and light blue doesn't work. It's too bright on normal visuals and it is out of place with other visuals.
Finally some buildings lack a propper LoD model but - and here is the good thing - this makes them look AWESOME at medium and long range.
Looking at long range at those towers that lack an LoD [and all you see is a sort of darkish metallic shape] I can't help but realize how wonderful the shapes are.
